When it comes to contests between the Utah State Aggies and New Mexico, the Lobos have been dealt plenty of low blows by the Aggies.

Utah State has won the last three games between the two schools. The Aggies have also captured six of the past seven meetings and hold a 29-12 advantage in the all-time series.

This roll is expected to carry on unabated as they meet again on Saturday. Oddsmakers are setting the Aggies as 5.5-point road favorites. Utah State is the only visiting Mountain West Conference school with a winning record (10-9) at New Mexico.

Utah State Aggies Betting Trends

Depth of scoring is a Utah State trademark this season. Utah State (9-5, 0-1) shows 11 different players hitting double figures in a game and six players who have each scored 20 or more points in a game.

Utah State has had at least two players score in double figures in each game this season. Senior forward Justin Bean leads the way with double figures in all but one game this season.

Bean is the only Mountain West player averaging a double-double this season (19.8 points/10.4 rebounds). He leads the league in scoring, rebounding, field goal percentage (.652), double-doubles (9), defensive rebounds per game (7.36) and offensive rebounds per game (3.07).

Bean is third in the nation in double-doubles, sixth in field goal percentage, 10th in rebounds per game and 12th in defensive rebounds per game and 24th in scoring.

New Mexico Lobos Betting Trends

The Lobos (7-7, 0-1) are coming off a 79-70 loss at Nevada in their conference opener on New Year’s Day. Junior guard Jaelen House led the Lobos with 18 points and six assists. Sophomore guard Jamal Mashburn Jr scored 13 of his 17 points in the second half. Senior guard Saquan Singleton scored a season-high 14 points in his first start of the season.

New Mexico is among the NCAA’s best free-throw shooting teams. The Lobos rank second nationally in free throws made (243). They’re also fourth in the couuntry in free-throw attempts (324). New Mexico is getting 22.8% of its points from the line. House leads the conference in free throw percentage (85.3%).

The Lobos have already eclipsed last year’s win total of six. New Mexico leads the Mountain West with 5.5 blocks per game.

Mashburn leads the team in scoring at 18.3 points per game. He’s scored in double-figures in 13 of 14 games this season.

Lobos vs Aggies Prediction

Utah State and New Mexico are two of the top-scoring teams in the Mountain West Conference. The Aggies rank fifth with 77.2 points per game, while the Lobos rank second with 78.9 points per game.

Utah State is 8-0 when scoring 80 or more points in a game this season.  The Aggies roster includes five players with at least 30 assists. Utah State is second in the nation in total assists (276) and is third in the nation with 19.7 assists per game. The Aggies have recorded 20 or more assists in seven games this season.

The Lobos have won eight straight Mountain West home openers. New Mexico is 6-1 this season when scoring at least 80 points and 0-7 this season when scoring less than 80 points.

Bean and House are two of three Mountain West players to record multiple 30-point games this season.
