Getting the 10th-ranked team in the nation as a +2.5 underdog looks like a sweet spot. Despite that, bettors may want to be mindful as 87% of the public currently likes the Razorback to cover the spread. You may want to wait for a more favorable betting line later in the week as the rest of the public money starts to pour in.

Arkansas Betting Trends

Arkansas has slowly become an under-the-radar contender in the SEC West. In addition to being 8-1 in their last nine games in September, the Razorbacks are 14-2-1 in their last seventeen games after accumulating more than 450 yards of total offense. Head coach Sam Pittman has this team chomping at the bit. These hogs are hungry.

The Arkansas rushing attack is dominant. The Hogs’ rushing attack ranks 10th nationally behind 440 yards from running back Raheim Sanders. Quarterback KJ Jefferson is a star. The 6’3, 242-pound junior has looked phenomenal this season. He’s toyed with defenses on his way to a 70.7% completion percentage with 6 touchdowns and just 1 interception. Jefferson has added another three scores on the ground while looking impossible to tackle.

Ultimately, the Razorbacks’ defense will the catalyst of a victory in Jerry World on Saturday night. Arkansas leads the nation in sacks, and ranks 7th in the country against the run. Although, the Razorbacks allow the most passing yards in the country, at 352.7 yards per game.

The question remains, can the Aggies take advantage of that floundering secondary?

Texas A&M Betting Trends

Head coach Jimbo Fisher made the call to instill Max Johnson as his starting quarterback before the game against Miami and was rewarded. Johnson did just enough to lead this team to victory.  Although, most of the damage was done by weapons Devon Achane and Ainias Smith. Questions remain as to how Johnson will perform on a much bigger stage Saturday night.

The Texas A&M defense has been strong against the pass through three weeks. They’re allowing just over 300 passing yards per game, and proving to be stout against the run.  The Aggies’ defense has surrendered just two touchdowns through three weeks, and remains stingy enough to cause the Razorbacks’ offense problems.

In fact, the Aggies’ front seven has enough talent to dictate this game itself. Yet, it remains to be seen if their offense can keep up.

Arkansas vs Texas A&M Pick

In the end, each of these teams will be looking for a victory to cement its status as the number 2 team in the SEC West.

None of the trends favor the Aggies in this clash of SEC West Rivals. The Razorbacks are 4-0 against the spread in their last four meetings with Texas A&M, and the underdog has covered in four straight games. Arkansas’ offensive line is stout enough to negate the talent advantage of the Aggies’ front four. Additionally, Texas A&M quarterback Max Johnson will struggle to deal with an elite Hogs pass-rush.

We’re betting on the more talented quarterback in this rivalry matchup.

Pick: Arkansas +2.5 (-110)
