Oregon quarterback Bo Nix’s yardage and his counterpart, UCLA quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson’s passing yardage totals of 265.5 and 263.5 are interesting plays in Week 8. Texas running back Bijan Robinson’s yardage total sits at 104.5 for a showdown with Oklahoma State.

Quentin Johnston Receiving Yards

After being held under 50 receiving yards through his first four games of the season, TCU receiver Quentin Johnston has exploded the past two weeks. A breakout 14-catch, 206-yard game against Kansas in Week 6 was followed by eight receptions and 180 yards against Oklahoma State last week.

A 6’4, 215 lbs receiver with twitchy and explosive movement skills, Johnston should easily be a top-15 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. This week, the Kansas State defense will struggle to contain Johnston and an electric Horned Frogs offense. New head coach Sonny Dykes and offensive coordinator Garrett Riley have taken the lid off this offense and the Horned Frogs have exploded.

Quarterback Max Duggan has thrown for at least 280 yards in every game he’s finished so far this season. Johnston should have no problem hitting the over on Saturday in front of a home crowd.

Pick: Quentin Johnston OVER 89.5 receiving yards (-115)

Zach Charbonnet Rushing Yards

UCLA running back Zach Charbonnet is thriving in his role as Chip Kelly’s new hammer. The former Michigan Wolverine looks better than ever in Bruin blue as is making the most of his decision to return for his senior season.

Charbonnet is averaging 123 rushing yards per game so far this season. Moreover, the senior from Camarillo, California is averaging an astronomical 7.1 yards per carry! The bruising back looks like a new man as the thunder to Dorian Thompson-Robinson’s lightning in UCLA’s high-octane offense.

Charbonnet has been running around, over, or right through opposing defenders all year long. Although the Oregon run defense is a top-ten unit in the country, they’ll be hard-pressed to stop Charbonnet on Saturday. With one of the highest totals of the week at 70.5, UCLA versus Oregon is sure to be a shootout. This UCLA offense runs through the legs of Charbonnet and Thompson-Robinson.

Chip Kelly knows if he’s to have any chance of an upset in his former stomping grounds of Eugene, he will need to feed his bell cow back. We were burned by Charbonnet a few weeks ago, don’t make the same mistake here. Take the over.

Pick: Zach Charbonnet OVER 96.5 rushing yards (-115)
