Georgia vs Michigan Pick & Prediction

With Georgia favored by more than a touchdown, Michigan has become the more public pick. However, it’s a scary thought to bet against this Bulldog defense. This defense is number one in the country in points allowed (9.5 PPG), second in total yards allowed (254.4 YPG), and first in yards per play allowed (4.02 YPP). All that being said, Georgia did fall at the hands of Alabama 41-24 in the SEC Championship game.

However, the Michigan offense has been rolling recently. The Wolverines have the 10th ranked rushing offense, averaging 223.8 yards per game on the ground. Moreover, they’ve got a great game manager at QB in Cade McNamara. Michigan had two of their biggest wins of the season in their most recent games, knocking off Iowa 42-3 in the Big Ten Championship and beating Ohio State 42-27 at the end of November.

Here are a few betting trends to note for the Orange Bowl:

  • Georgia is 1-4 ATS in their last five after a straight up loss
  • Georgia is 6-2 ATS in their last eight bowl game appearances
  • Michigan is 0-4 ATS in their last four bowl game appearances
  • Michigan is 4-1 ATS in their last five non-conference games
  • Michigan is 2-0 ATS & SU as an underdog this season

This game really depends on the play of Georgia QB Stetson Bennett. Michigan manages the clock well, ranking 19th in time of possession. If they can control the clock and force Bennett to have to make big plays, I think the Wolverines have a shot at winning the Orange Bowl outright. I’ll take the points with the Wolverines at +7.5 in the Georgia vs Michigan odds against a volatile quarterback.

Pick: Wolverines +7.5 (-113) 1 unit & Michigan ML (+235) 0.25 units at Barstool Sportsbook
