  • In the Oklahoma State vs Oklahoma odds and picks, the Sooners are set as 7.5-point home favorites over the #22 Cowboys in their Saturday, November 19 game
  • The Sooners are 16-3 straight up in the past 19 games against the Cowboys
  • All of the best bets for Bedlam are outlined in the story below

In the rivalry known simply as Bedlam, it’s the #22 Oklahoma State Cowboys (7-3, 6-4 ATS) who are currently holding bragging rights over the Oklahoma Sooners (5-5, 3-7 ATS). Oklahoma State won last year’s game 37-33.

Draw the scope back somewhat longer, or just narrow the focus to Oklahoma home games played in Norman, and the trends do a 180. The Sooners are 16-3 straight up over the past 19 games against the Cowboys. Oklahoma State hasn’t won a game at Oklahoma since 2014. The Cowboys are 1-8 SU on the road in the last nine games at Oklahoma.

It’s of no surprise then that it’s the Sooners who are solid 7.5-point home favorites for the 2022 edition of Bedlam. They are a dismal 1-5 against the spread at home this season.

The line for this traditional showdown was opening at Oklahoma -6 in the CFB odds. The kickoff for this game at Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium is set at 7:30 pm ET on Saturday, November 19.  The weather forecast is calling for clear skies, 11 mph wind and a temperature of 48 degrees. Broadcast of the game can be watched on ABC.

Cowboys vs Sooners Betting Trends

The public betting splits are showing that spread bettors are going both ways with their wagers. There’s 72% of spread handle backing the Sooners, while 72% of spread bets are going for the Cowboys. The public moneyline players are all-in with the Cowboys. Oklahoma State is drawing 92% of moneyline handle and 61% of moneyline bets.

Total players are also of two minds. The handle is going 67% with the over. Bets, though, are liking the under at 56%. The under has proven to be the winning play in 11 of the Cowboys’ last 13 road games. But the over is 4-3 in the Sooners’ last seven games.

Cowboys Falling Off In Stretch Drive

Sitting not so long ago at 6-1, their lone loss to #4 TCU, the Cowboys looked to be riding high. Then they got dumped 48-0 by Kansas State and 37-16 by Kansas. Now at 7-3, Oklahoma State is clinging to slim Big 12 title hopes. At 4-3, the Cowboys are tied for third place in the conference standings.

The biggest question facing the Cowboys is the status of QB1 Spencer Sanders. A shoulder injury kept him out of the Kansas loss. Sanders came off the bench to replace an ineffective Gunnar Gundy last week, rallying the Cowboys to a 20-14 win over Iowa State.

Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy is 3-14 SU against Oklahoma. The Cowboys are 0-3 SU and 1-2 ATS in their last three road games. Oklahoma State is scoring 34.9 points per game to rank as the #24 scoring offense in the nation.

Gray Secret Weapon For Sooners

The most dangerous component for the Sooners is senior running back Eric Gray. In last week’s loss at West Virginia, he carried the ball 25 times for a season-high 211 yards and two touchdowns. That works out to 8.4 yards per carry.

Gray has rushed for 1,113 yards this season, good for ninth in the nation. He has gone over 100 yards four games in a row and in seven of 10 games this season. At 6.75 yards per carry, he rates #6 in the NCAA.

Oklahoma needs one more win in order to be bowl eligible. The Sooners have gone to a bowl game every season since 1998. Sooners QB Dillon Gabriel lists a passer efficiency rating of 151.42. That’s good for 30th in the NCAA. Only 10 QBs show fewer interceptions than the four picks he’s thrown.

Oklahoma State vs Oklahoma Prediction

Oklahoma is 5-1-1 ATS in the last seven games against Oklahoma State. But the Sooners are just 2-3 ATS in the last five home games vs the Cowboys.

The Sooners are 2-5 SU and 1-6 ATS in their last seven games. They’re 1-3 SU in their last four home games. The Sooners should win this game, but they will be hard-pressed to cover the 7.5-point spread.

Pick: Oklahoma State +7.5 (-110).
