  • The Oklahoma State Cowboys are three-point home favorites over the Oklahoma Sooners in a huge NCAA football game slated for Saturday, November 27
  • Oklahoma must win this game to earn a berth in the Big 12 championship
  • Win or lose, Oklahoma State has already clinched one of the two spots in the Big 12 title game

The Oklahoma State Cowboys will be looking to beat the Oklahoma Sooners for the first time since 2014 when these arch-rivals clash next Saturday. The Sooners will be seeking to set the stage for an immediate rematch of Bedlam.

The #9-ranked Cowboys (10-1) are already assured of one of the two places in the Big 12 championship game on Saturday, December 4, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. It doesn’t matter whether they win or lose to Oklahoma.

In the case of the #12 Sooners, a road win over Oklahoma State would qualify them for a chance to play for the Big 12 title against the Cowboys.

Oddsmakers are backing the hometown Cowboys. Oklahoma State is a three-point favorite in the opening line. The Sooners are 4-0 straight up in their last four games at Oklahoma State.

Big 12 Championship Scenarios

For the Cowboys, it’s simple. They’re in. Win or lose to the Sooners, they’re playing with house money. One Big 12 championship game slot belongs to them.

The Sooners, on the other hand, have left themselves with some work to do. Their easiest route is victory. A win on Saturday over the Cowboys in Stillwater sends them back to face the Cowboys for the conference title again in two week’s time.

Lose to Oklahoma State and things get complicated for the 10-1 Sooners. Since they lost 27-14 to Baylor, if Oklahoma were to fall to the Cowboys, they’d require the Texas Tech Red Raiders to upset the Bears in order to gain a place in the Big 12 championship game.

Oklahoma State Cowboys Betting Trends

Defense continues to be the story for the Cowboys. They blanked Texas Tech 23-0 on Saturday, booking their spot in Arlington.

It was the first time the Red Raiders had been shutout since 1997, but it was par for the course for Oklahoma State’s dominating defense. The Cowboys have allowed just one offensive touchdown through their past four games. Still, it was their first shutout in a conference game or on the road since 1995.

Scorers of 41 points one week earlier in a win over Iowa State, Texas Tech was held to 108 yards of total offense by Oklahoma State.

Oklahoma Sooners Betting Trends

When it’s close, Oklahoma is standing up and being counted. Saturday’s 28-21 victory over the Iowa State Cyclones was the seventh one-score triumph posted by the Sooners this season.

It was the Oklahoma defense paving the way, collecting seven sacks and forced three turnovers. However, the Sooners’ offense continues to stumble.

Oklahoma quarterback Caleb Williams shows one touchdown pass against three interceptions in his last two games. On a positive note, the Sooners did go over 200 yards in rushing.

Cowboys-Sooners Line Movement

Oklahoma State hasn’t won the Big 12 title since 2011. That was also the last time the Cowboys beat the Sooners in Stillwater. They rolled Oklahoma 44-10 that season.

The final score of this one doesn’t figure to be lopsided. But with their smothering defense, expect the line to move in favor of the Cowboys.
