  • The Oklahoma State Cowboys are 6.5-point favorites in the Big 12 Championship game slated for Saturday, December 4
  • Oklahoma State has won two in a row from Baylor
  • This game will played at the neutral site of AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas

Neither of the Baylor Bears or Oklahoma State Cowboys have ever won a Big 12 Championship game before. In fact, the #7 Cowboys will be playing in the game for the first time on Saturday when they face #9 Baylor.

The Bears only previous appearance came in 2019. Baylor lost 30-23 to the Oklahoma Sooners.

Oddsmakers are anticipating that a similar fate is awaiting the Bears. Oklahoma State is set as the 6.5-point favorite to win the game in the opening line. Baylor is 5-11 against the spread in the last 16 games against the Cowboys.

Oklahoma State Cowboys Betting Trends

Cowboys quarterback Spencer Sanders was a double threat in their 37-33 Bedlam victory over the #10 Oklahoma Sooners. The redshirt junior completed 19-of-30 passes for 214 yards. He also scampered for 93 yards on 16 carrries, including a 37-yard touchdown run. The only blemish on his day saw Sanders throwing for only one TD against two interceptions.

Cowboys miscues kept the Sooners in the game. The third quarter featured an Oklahoma State muffed punt leading to an Oklahoma TD, while an end-zone fumble resulted in the Cowboys conceding a safety.

Oklahoma State entered the game as the nation’s #2 scoring defense and #3 overall defense, and it was the defense that would make the game-saving play. Oklahoma was driving toward a winning TD in the dying seconds. With eight seconds to play and the ball on the Oklahoma State 24 yard line,  Cowboys Oklahoma State defensive end Collin Oliver came off the edge to sack Sooners QB Caleb Williams and wrap up the victory.

There was also good news on the injury front. Senior running back and 1,000-yard rusher Jaylen Warren (undisclosed) carried 16 times for 57 yards Saturday. He ran for the winning TD.

Baylor Bears Betting Trends

The Bears got the they needed over Texas Tech but it was hard-earned. QB Blake Shapen, making his first start of the season in place of Gerry Bohanon (right hamstring injury), threw for 254 yards in a 27-24 Baylor victory. Bohanon suited up but didn’t play. He’s listed as day-to-day.

Red Raiders kicker Jonathan Garibay’s potential game-tying 53-yard field goal attempt with 1:18 left sailed wide left. One week earlier, Texas Tech was limited to 108 yards of offense during a 23-0 loss to Oklahoma State.

Bears vs Cowboys Projected Line Movement

Oklahoma State has beaten Baylor two games in a row. That includes a 24-14 triumph in Week 5 this season that was much closer than the final score would indicate.

Baylor rallied from 14-0 deficit to get to within a field goal down at 17-14. Baylor picked off Sanders three times, but a fourth-quarter Warren TD run clinched victory for the Cowboys.

The Cowboys are 9-2-1 ATS this season, while Baylor is 8-4. Neither team was able to cover in their Saturday wins, however.

Oklahoma State covered as the 4-point chalk in the October game against Baylor. However, it’s unlikely that the Bears impressed anyone with their struggles against 6-6 Texas Tech.

It’s doubtful that this line will change much over the course of the week.
