The Longhorns are actually a 7-point favorite against the first place Horned Frogs with moneyline odds of -278. That’s a 73.54% chance of winning. TCU comes back at college football odds of +210. Texas is 6-3-0 ATS, while the visitors are 7-1.

TCU has actually won six of the last eight meetings against Texas, but the Longhorns came out victorious in 2021.

TCU Betting Analysis

The Horned Frogs not only have their unbeaten record on the line here, but they can clinch top spot in the Big 12 with a victory. The only way that wouldn’t happen is if TCU loses to Baylor and Kansas in their final two conference matchups and outcomes elsewhere don’t go in their favor. TCU is coming off another statement win on Saturday, with their dynamic wide receivers having their way with the Texas Tech secondary.

Quarterback Max Duggan threw for 195 yards and two touchdowns, with Taye Barber leading the way with three catches for 62 yards. However, top target Quentin Johnston was sidelined with an ankle injury. It’s unknown if he’ll be ready to go Saturday, but if the WR does suit up, Texas has no chance. This TCU pass offense has destroyed everyone all year long and Johnston just puts them over the top.

Texas Needs The Crowd

To be frank, TCU is just a better team than Texas this season. But, that doesn’t mean they can’t win. The atmosphere in Austin for home games is something the Horned Frogs have yet to experience. It could put the visitors under serious pressure. The Longhorns faithful need to bring the energy in a big way on Saturday.

In the air, Texas struggled immensely to get anything going last weekend against K-State. Quinn Ewers had just 197 passing yards. Steve Sarkisian truly has Brian Robinson to thank for this victory. The RB was absolutely electrifying and once again proved why he’ll be a hot commodity at the next level. Robinson ran for 209 yards on 30 carries for an average of seven yards per run. He also had one score. Robinson is going to be an integral part of the offense in this game and will be relied upon to do a lot of the heavy lifting.

TCU vs Texas Prediction

I honestly think this is going to be a close one. The status of Quentin Johnston is important, though. The TCU offense wasn’t nearly as explosive without him, and if he plays, they have the edge. Keep an eye on his status. Horned Frogs ATS is the move if Johnston takes the field. If not, I think Texas wins but it could still be close, therefore the Longhorns moneyline is likely the best choice.

Pick: TCU +7 (-110)
