NFC North battle featuring Green Bay hosting Minnesota for Thursday night game

Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers (-9, 47.5)    

After telling fans to relax, quarterback Aaron Rodgers led his Green Bay Packers (2-2) to a victory last Sunday at division foe the Chicago Bears. Now the field general has a quick turnaround with a Thursday home game against NFC North rival the Minnesota Vikings (2-2).

It appears the Packers figured out the best way to win is basically to let Rodgers chuck the ball around the field to his talented receiving crew.

Said wide receiver Jordy Nelson, “There’s no reason to beat our head against a wall and try to run it when we have match-ups outside and that’s what the numbers give you. We’ll continue to just adjust to what they’re doing and be sound in what we’re doing.”

As for the Vikings, which are without Adrian Peterson, the squad has been feisty beating St. Louis and Atlanta. Whereas the defense has yet to give up a 300-yard passer, it’s defense has been porous at best.

Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer said, “It’s terrible. We’ve got a lot of work to do. I’m extremely disappointed in that. We’ll put a lot more time and effort into it than what we have.”

What remains to be seen is whether rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater will be available. He sprained his ankle during last weekend’s win against the Falcons.

Nevertheless, considering it’s a short week (and both teams will be struggling), the Vikings and the points are the most logical play.
