Patriots Dominant During 11-Game Win Streak

The Patriots have stormed out of the gate this season, posting lopsided victories in each of their first six contests, capped by last weekend’s 35-14 demolition of the New York Giants on Thursday Night Football as 16.5-point home chalk.

Overall, New England has won outright in 11 straight contests, including five road victories going into Monday night’s Patriots vs Jets matchup at MetLife Stadium.

New England has been dominant on both sides of the ball, averaging an NFL-leading 31.7 points per game, and has topped that number in three of its past five recent road wins. The Patriots defense has also turned in steady stout performances, limiting opponents to just 8.0 points per game so far this season.

Stingy Defense Standing Tall on the Road

The defense has been particularly stingy on the road, surrendering just 17 total points in three victories this season, while not allowing a single passing score.

Overall, New England has allowed just 260.7 total yards per game in their three road dates while racking up an impressive 10 total takeaways during that stretch.

The Patriots’ recent domination of New York has also helped fuel the clear betting tendency toward New England, with 65.9% of all ATS betting dollars being wagered on the defending Super Bowl champions.

The Patriots have claimed SU wins in their past seven meetings with their AFC East rivals, with five of those wins coming by double-digit margins, including a 30-14 win at Gillette Stadium in Week 3.

Jets Keeping Things Close in Home Dates

New England has also paid out steadily when pegged as big double-digit favorites, going 4-1 ATS in their past five. However, the Jets have managed to keep things close in recent dates with New England at MetLife Stadium, despite falling to defeat in four of the past six.

New York stayed within a touchdown of the Patriots in five home meetings prior to last November’s 27-13 loss as 13-point home underdogs, covering in each of the contests to improve to 7-3 ATS in their past 10 matchups.

The Jets also hope to build off the momentum gained from last weekend’s 24-22 upset of the visiting Dallas Cowboys as 7-point home underdogs. Quarterback Sam Darnold proved to be the difference-maker in his return after missing three games while recovering from mononucleosis.

Darnold Key to Jets’ Success

Darnold tossed for 338 yards and a pair of scores in the win, and has now topped the 300-yard mark through the air in two of his past three home appearances. In addition, the Jets offense has shown steady improvement since Darnold took over under center last season, averaging 25.3 points per game in the 22-year-old’s past seven home appearances.

However, the Jets will have to reverse their current shaky record on Monday Night Football if they are to silence the massive majority of sports bettors betting against them in Week 7.

New York has lost five straight in prime time on Monday nights, averaging just 12.4 points per game while getting outscored by an average margin of 13.6 points, but are 2-1 SU all-time against the Patriots on Monday Night Football.

Picks: Patriots -9 (-110); OVER 43.5 (-105)
