One of the marquee matchups of Week 8 of the NFL season will feature the Buffalo Bills hosting the Philadelphia Eagles. The Bills opened as a 1.5-point favorite but the odds have already shifted to a pick.

Will the line continue moving in Philadelphia’s favor this week? Let’s take a closer look at what to expect for the movement.

Philadelphia Eagles vs Buffalo Bills Odds

Bills Outlasted Dolphins in Week 7

The Bills were the biggest favorite on the board in Week 7, as they were laying 17 points against the Dolphins. Needless to say, it was quite a surprise when Miami was holding the lead in the third quarter.

As a matter of fact, Miami could have gone up two scores but Ryan Fitzpatrick threw a pick in the red zone.

What’s a bit startling is that the Bills defense really struggled to get stops in the early going, and ended the day giving up 282 passing yards to Fitzpatrick and another 109 yards on the ground. The Bills actually scored 22 of their 31 points in the fourth quarter, so it shows just how sluggish they were before then.

Quarterback Josh Allen had a bit of a shaky game, finishing with just 202 passing yards. He did what he needed to do, but considering the opponent was the winless Dolphins, this was not impressive. It was really just two Miami third quarter turnovers that flipped this game. A better team would have taken advantage of Allen’s struggles.

Eagles Coming Off Blowout Loss in Dallas

Although Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson “guaranteed” a win for his team, the Eagles came nowhere near delivering on that promise. They were absolutely flattened by the Dallas Cowboys, losing 37-10. The Eagles trailed 14-0 early and were never in the game.

The challenge here is that bettors continue to be very forgiving to the Eagles, as they’re still viewed as a Super Bowl contender. Clearly, they have some issues as they’ve lost by 18 or more in back-to-back weeks, but the general perception is that this is a good team that’s underachieved.

The question is, have bettors given up on this team?

The Vikings were bet up from -2 to -3.5 last week when they hosted Philadelphia and the Cowboys were bet up from -2.5 to -3. Maybe bettors are starting to feel like this Eagles team isn’t all that good.

Which Way Will The Line Move?

I’m expecting the Bills to continue to see action but not a ton. If you take a look at the Eagles vs Bills odds & stats, the money has come in on Philadelphia. The Bills opened up -1.5 and the line has now shifted to a PICK in less than an hour.

Remember that the Bills might be 5-1 but the general feeling is that they’ve mostly beat up on bad competition. Their five wins have come against teams that are a combined 6-26. However, the Eagles have just three wins on the year, two of which have come against the Redskins and Jets.

I’m expecting this line to creep up and the Bills to close in the -1.5 to -2.5 range. So get them at a pick while you can.
