An already tight divisional race in the AFC North heats up this weekend on Sunday Night Football as the first-place Baltimore Ravens play host to the last-place Cleveland Browns as 3.5-point favorites. The Ravens return home after maintaining a slender one-game lead atop the standings with last weekend’s 16-13 win in Chicago. The Browns are coming off a 13-10 home victory over the winless Detroit Lions, and will be looking to tally consecutive victories for the first time in eight outings.

Start time of Sunday night’s contest is set for 8:20pm ET at M&T Bank Stadium. Partly sunny skies are in the Sunday forecast for Baltimore, with the mercury expected to dip into the low 40s Fahrenheit by game time.

Browns vs Ravens Line Movement

Sunday night’s matchup marks the first of two regular-season meetings between these divisional rivals. The Ravens have run up the score while tallying three straight outright wins over Cleveland, including a lopsided 38-6 victory in their most recent date at M&T Bank Stadium in Week 1 of last season. Baltimore has averaged over 38 points per game during their current 3-0 SU run. But the Browns struggling to generate offense, the UNDER has prevailed twice over their past three meetings.

Despite their recent head-to-head success, the Ravens have steadily faded since opening as 4.5-point chalk. The total has also seen plenty of movement since opening at 46.5, briefly dipping to 46 before rebounding to its current position at 47. And the OVER remains favored as a -115 bet.

Cleveland Browns Outlook

Consistency has eluded the Browns since they opened on a steady 3-1 SU run. The team has dropped four of seven decisions since, including road defeats at the hands of the Los Angeles Chargers and New England Patriots in which they gave up a combined 92 points. It has also been “feast or famine” offensively for the Browns, who have been limited to 17 or fewer points on five occasions over their past seven games. However, Cleveland has also topped 40 points in two of its past three away dates, with the team’s rushers leading the charge with five total scoring runs.

And while the Browns receiving corps continues to wrestle with injuries. Most notable among those are Jarvis Landry and Donovan Peoples-Jones, who both remain listed as questionable. However, the ground game should get a boost with the return of Kareem Hunt. Sidelined since Week 6 with a calf injury, Hunt has seen four of his five scoring runs this season come on the road. And with Nick Chubb topping 130 rushing yards in three of four outings, the Browns’ backfield is poised to present a serious threat to the ravens’ second-ranked rush defense.

Baltimore Ravens Outlook

While the Ravens were far from dominant in last week’s victory over the Bears, their 16-13 represents a resurgence for the team’s defense, which had allowed nine total touchdowns over their preceding 1-2 SU run. Indeed, Baltimore had managed to limit opponents to just 18 points per game during an early-season five-game SU win streak before surrendering over 31 points per game during their recent 1-2 SU slide.

Injuries remain a major concern for the Ravens, particularly on defense. Among the players that missed practice this week, and enter the weekend list as questionable, are cornerbacks Anthony Averett, Jimmy Smith, and Tavon Young. And while quarterback Lamar Jackson is set to return after missing last week’s contest due to illness, he must contend with a depleted receiving corps, with Miles Boykin confirmed as out, and Marquise Brown listed as questionable.

The Pick: Browns +3.5 (-110) – 1 unit
