  • The Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs will collide in Kansas City, Missouri at 4:25 pm ET on Sunday, November 7th
  • The Packers will be without starting quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, after he tested positive for Covid-19 earlier in the week
  • See the best prop bets for this Week 8 matchup below

Jordan Love leads the Green Bay Packers into a showdown with Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday. Kickoff from GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium is scheduled for 4:25 pm ET on FOX. Joe Buck and Troy Aikman will be on the call, which means this is a big one.

The Packers got a huge 24-21 win in Week 8 over the previously undefeated Arizona Cardinals on Thursday Night Football. The celebration didn’t last long as just a few days later Aaron Rodgers tested positive for Covid-19, so he’s out this week. On the flip side, the Chiefs got a much needed 20-17 victory in their Week 8 meeting with the New York Giants.

Kansas City are now 7.5-point favorites in this one as the books had to adjust for the Rodgers news. In terms of total, bettors are staring at a 48 at almost every book on the planet. As always, there are plenty of player props to consider and that is what we will talk about here.

AJ Dillon is an Animal

It’s time we start acting like AJ Dillon was a good pick by the Green Bay Packers. Every week he looks more and more like a star just waiting to happen and every week he seems to be on the field a little more. Not only is he on the field, but he’s getting carries.

When you have legs of steel, you tend to get work in the NFL. That’s how life works.

Dillon will always be behind Aaron Jones on the depth chart for the time being. Jones is a stud who has earned his spot on this team but the Packers know what can happen to the running back position. They know they’ll need the run game in the playoffs and they know they will need it this week.

Starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers is out with Covid-19 so in comes Jordan Love. Given that Love has very limited experience in the NFL, we may see a healthy dose of the Packers’ run game. Given their opponent, they will likely be able to run the ball at will.

Only four teams in the NFL are worse in terms of opponents yard per rush than the Kansas City Chiefs. Given the way the Packers lined up and ran the ball down the Arizona Cardinals’ defense’s throat last week, it’s likely they can do it again. Given the amount of work I expect Dillon to get, it’s likely he goes way over his rushing total.

  • The Pick: AJ Dillon Over 37.5 rushing yards (-120) wager 0.12 units to win 0.1 unit
  • SBR 2021 NFL Player Props Record: 13-15, -1.18 Units

Packers vs Chiefs Scoring Props

Darrel Williams (Chiefs) +850 +125
Davante Adams (Packers) +900 +130
Derrick Gore (Chiefs) +1300 +210
Mecole Hardman (Chiefs) +1600 +240
Patrick Mahomes (Chiefs) +2200 +350

Who Scores?

We have to have a touchdown scorer prop being that this is the marquee game of the late slate. It just makes sense. Any time you get to hear Joe Buck and Troy Aikman call your player’s name for a touchdown, it’s magic. It’s exactly what you’re looking for when you place the wager.

This week, I think we have a very likely source for a touchdown.

Only three running backs in the NFL have more red zone carries this season than Aaron Jones. He’s a very important piece to the Packers’ offense and he is highly likely to be used in high-leverage situations on Sunday. He’s already scored seven touchdowns on the season so given the situation, at plus money, he’s my bet to score this Sunday.

  • Pick: Aaron Jones – Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+100) – Wager 0.1 unit to win 0.1 units
  • SBR 2021 Touchdown Scorer prop record: 13-16, +0.345 units
