  • We’ve got you covered with all the latest injury news ahead of Saturday’s contest at Lambeau Field

The Los Angeles Rams pulled off a big upset on Wild Card Weekend, knocking off the Seattle Seahawks on the road by a 30-20 score. As was the case in last week’s contest, the Rams look to their Divisional Playoff date with the Green Bay Packers facing injury concerns on multiple fronts. Conversely, the Packers are in relatively good health after enjoying a bye last weekend.

Here’s a look at the key injuries for both these teams, and how they might impact the action in this NFC matchup on Saturday afternoon at Lambeau Field where the Packers are favored by 6.5-points.

Goff In, Wolford Out

Sidelined all week by a neck injury suffered in last weekend’s victory over the Seahawks, quarterback John Wolford has been ruled out of Sunday’s contest. The 25-year-old answered the call in Week 17, taking over the Rams offense in place of injured starter Jared Goff, and did enough to lead the Rams to an 18-7 victory over the Arizona Cardinals that earned them the No. 6 seed in the NFC.

Fortunately for Los Angeles, Goff has reportedly made steady progress since having surgery to repair his injured right thumb and was a full participant at practice throughout the week. The former first overall pick in the NFL Draft proved to be healthy enough to return to action last weekend after Wolford was injured in the first quarter but attempted far fewer passes than he would typically while healthy, going 9-for-19 for 155 passing yards and one TD.

Showing no ill effects from the injury, or his unscheduled return to play, Goff is likely to go to the air more frequently this weekend. However, the Rams are likely to focus on their ground game in what is shaping up to be a cold wintry day in Green Bay, which minimizes the impact of Goff’s injury on their game plan. That is good news, considering the uncertain status of Cooper Kupp. The Rams’ leading receiver this season, Kupp did not participate in practice all week as he battles a knee injury and remains listed as questionable for Saturday’s contest.

Kupp has been a reliable target all season long, particularly on the road, where he has averaged over 81 receiving yards per game. His availability would provide Goff with additional options. But the team’s focus on the rush against a Packers’ squad that has given up five total scoring runs over their past four outings, the impact of Kupp’s possible absence is diminished.

Donald Expected to Play Through Injury

The injury report has produced some good news and bad news for the Rams’ offensive and defensive lines. Star DL Aaron Donald was limited in practice all week after suffering a rib injury last week in Seattle. The injury was later reported as torn rib cartilage, which is typically an extremely painful ailment. However, the two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year claims to be suffering no pain from the injury and has been cleared to play on Saturday. Donald’s availability is key to the Rams’ attempts to shut down Packers QB Aaron Rodgers, who capped an MVP-worthy regular season with four TD passes in each of his final two outings.

Things don’t look quite so positive for OL David Edwards, who suffered an ankle injury last weekend that kept him out of practice all week. Edwards remains questionable for Saturday, but if he is unable to go, Bobby Evans is expected to get the call in his place after turning in a steady relief performance last week against Seattle.

Keke Lone Injury Among Otherwise Healthy Packers

Unlike the Rams, the Packers look to Saturday’s matchup in good health, thanks to a much-needed bye over Wild Card Weekend. The biggest question mark facing Green Bay is the availability of DL Kingsley Keke, who remains doubtful as he battles a concussion that has sidelined him since Week 16. However, Keke’s absence is unlikely to have any major impact on the betting line for Saturday’s contest, with Tyler Lancaster and Dean Lowry both set to go.

Other players that found their way on to the Packers’ injury list this week include CB Kevin King, who remained limited by an Achilles injury, receiver Allen Lazard, and T Rick Wagner, and LB Za’Darius Smith. However, none closed out the week with designations on the injury report, and are expected to be available on Saturday.
