Los Angeles Rams Injury Report

Player-Position Injury Game Status
Puka Nacua-WR Oblique Questionable
Cooper Kupp-WR Hamstring Out (IR)
Jason Taylor II-S Groin Out (IR)
Stetson Bennett-QB Personal Out (NFIL)
Hunter Long-TE thigh Out (IR)
Ochuan Mathis-LB knee Out (IR)

Rookie Sensation Nacua Ailing for Rams

Nucua is the holder of the NFL record for the most catches (25) through a player’s first two games. The rookie WR from BYU is now third overall in the NFL OROY odds.

In the NFL player props, Nacua would’ve been an ideal play for this game. Now with his injury, you may need to look elsewhere for action in the Rams vs Bengals props.

LA head coach Sean McVay is saying that Nacua will be in the lineup. That could prove vital, because 2022 NFL receiving leader Cooper Kupp (hamstring) is on IR and won’t play before Week 5.

Former Georgia QB Stetson Bennett is taking time away from the club to deal with a personal issue and has been placed on the non-football injury reserve list. That’s leaving only Brett Rypien on the depth chart behind QB1 Matthew Stafford.

Cincinnati Bengals Injury Report

Player-Position Injury Game Status
Joe Burrow-QB Calf Questionable
Irv Smith-TE Hamstring Doubtful
Devonnsha Maxwell-DT Knee Out (IR)
Brandon Facyson-CB knee Out (IR)
Devin Cochran-T knee Out (IR)

Burrow Banged Up for Bengals

It’s been a rough go from Burrow from the get-go this season. He originally injured his calf early in training camp. All expectations are that barring some last-minute setback, he will be under center Monday night.

Certainly, Burrow’s numbers are reflecting that the injury is presenting him with issues. Displaying a passer rating of 70.6, he’s ranked 29th among NFL QBs. Burrow has thrown for just two TDs and has been picked off once.

Things are less certain when it comes to TE Irv Smith. Doubtful with a hamstring injury, he’s been limited in practice and suffered a setback late in the week, making it unlikely that  Smith will be playing. The injury-prone TE hasn’t played a full season since 2019.

How Could Injuries Affect Rams vs Bengals Betting Lines?

Interestingly, there seems to be some suggestion among the Bengals players that Burrow shouldn’t be playing on Monday. WR Ja’Marr Chase, for one, admits he’s been telling Burrow not to play. Chase believes it would be in the best interest of the team for Burrow to rest up until he’s 100% healthy.

The problem for Cincinnati is that beyond Burrow, the Bengals quarterback room is relatively bare. Undrafted rookie Jake Browning has attempted one NFL pass. Journeyman veteran and former Bengals QB AJ McCarron was signed to the practice roster this week.

Equally disconcerting will be if Smith can’t answer the bell. He’s the only TE who’s caught a pass for Cincinnati this season. Mitchell Wilcox caught 17 passes last season, while Drew Sample made two receptions.

Nacua is also LA’s punt return specialist. Kyren Williams is next on the depth chart in that role.

The uncertain status of Burrow is leading some experts to roll with the underdogs winning outright in the Rams vs Bengals predictions.
