  • The 4-2 Ravens travel to the 5-1 Seahawks for a huge Week 7 matchup
  • The Seahawks come off a win over the Browns, while the Ravens had a huge divisional win against the Bengals in Week 6
  • Seattle opens as a -3.5 favorite, while the total opens at 50.5

After wins for both teams on Sunday, the Ravens and Seahawks meet for a huge Week 7 matchup in Seattle. The Seahawks open as just over a field goal favorite at home, and a look at the Ravens vs Seahawks odds and stats indicates that this is going to be an exciting affair.

Baltimore Ravens vs Seattle Seahawks Odds

Team Spread Total
Ravens +3.5 (-110) O 50.5 (-110)
Seahawks -3.5 (-110) U 50.5 (-110)

* Odds taken 10/13/19

Both teams are in the midst of strong seasons. The Ravens are 4-2 in 2019, and Lamar Jackson continues to show that he can indeed play quarterback in the NFL. It is Seattle, however, that has had an especially impressive start to the year. The Seahawks are 5-1 this season, with signature wins over the Steelers and Rams, along with Sunday’s victory at Cleveland.

Which Way Will This Line Move?

Bettors have not had nearly as much success backing either team. While the Seahawks and Ravens have been strong straight up, neither team has been particularly impressive against the spread. Seattle is 3-3, while Baltimore is only 1-4-1 against the number.

It’s been a different story for backers of the over. With both at an over/under record of 4-2, the Russell Wilson and Lamar Jackson-led offenses have over-performed consistently in 2019.

 4-2 Record 5-1
1-4-1 Against the Spread 3-3
4-2 Over/Under 4-2

Seattle has one of the league’s strongest home-field advantages, and as mentioned, they have been a stronger team against the spread than Baltimore. Coming off a huge comeback win over the popular Browns, and led by a reliable, veteran quarterback, Seattle could be a very popular side.

That’s especially true with the number being at only 3.5. CenturyLink Field is worth more than the standard 3-points at home, so this line could move in the Seahawks direction in the coming week.

What’s the Best Early Bet?

If bettors are quick enough to get to it, Seattle -3.5 is a bet  that provides a lot of value. At only -3.5 with maybe the league’s best home-field advantage, it’s certainly an attractive side in Week 7.

The best bet, however, is the under in this matchup. Both teams have been kind to over bettors in 2019, but that should change Sunday. At 50.5, it’s a high number that provides significant value.

The Ravens offense leads the league in points per game at 32.2, but it comes against a host of weak defenses. Lamar Jackson has feasted on the Dolphins, Bengals, and Cardinals this year, but going to Seattle on Sunday will provide Baltimore with the toughest combination of a defense and crowd noise that they’ve seen all year.

Seattle’s offense has over-performed in 2019, but the goal for offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer continues to remain the same. Only three teams in the NFL run the ball more than the Seahawks, and Schottenheimer is never deterred by inefficiency in that department.

Seattle is poised to put the first speed bump of the year in front of Lamar Jackson and the Raven offense, and if they can grab an early lead, Chris Carson and the Seahawk running game will be called upon to salt away the game.
