There wasn’t a ton of change for head coach Jon Cooper and co. this off-season, as most of the core that saw TB reach three straight Stanley Cup Finals remains intact.
There were a few notable exceptions. They traded away defensive stalwart Ryan McDonagh while facing a cap crunch, and they lost ten-year veteran Ondrej Palat in free agency along with blueliner Jan Ruuta. The Bolts took care of their own, re-signing quality youngsters Mikhail Sergachev, Anthony Cirelli and Erik Cernak to matching eight-year deals.

Between the pipes, the Lightning are rock solid, with 2019 Vezina winner Andrei Vasilevskiy arguably the world’s best goaltender. He’s only second in the Vezina Trophy odds to his counterpart in this duel, Igor Shesterkin.
New York Rangers Betting Analysis
The New York Rangers finished second in the Metropolitan Division with 110 points (same points that TB had in the Atlantic), then rode a magical playoff ride to the East Finals before succumbing to Tampa Bay in six games. After a really slow start to the postseason, Igor Shesterkin showed his Vezina form and caught fire and nearly brought them to the big dance.

The NY Rangers lost dependable forwards Ryan Strome, Andrew Copp and Frank Vatrano in free agency, but signed 50-point getter Vincent Trocheck away from Metro rivals Carolina. This could also be the year 2019 second overall pick Kaapo Kakko and 2020 first selection Alexis Lafreniere take big leaps in their games to justify their high draft status.
