League leaders Bayern Munich will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the table as they welcome a struggling Wolfsburg side to the Allianz Arena. The kick-off is scheduled for Friday afternoon at 2:30 PM EST.

Bayern just dismantled Stuttgart by five goals on Tuesday, with Serge Gnabry leading the way with a hat-trick. The Wolves meanwhile, suffered a crushing 3-2 defeat to FC Koln at the death.

These two sides most recently in April, with the reigning champions running out as 3-2 winners. In fact, Bayern has won seven straight games against Wolfsburg.

Bayern Flying High

As per usual, the Bavarians are absolutely lighting up the Bundesliga and have won six consecutive matches across all competitions.

Julian Nagelsmann’s side was utterly dominant against Stuttgart earlier in the week, putting on an attacking display.

The scoring didn’t start until just before the halftime whistle, but it was truly the Serge Gnabry and Robert Lewandowski show. The German bagged a hat-trick in fine fashion, while Lewa also netted a brace, taking his total to a Bundesliga-best 18 goals in just 16 league appearances.

Bayern’s firepower in the final third has been shining as of late, scoring 13 goals in their previous four games. In fact, Nagelsmann’s side has smashed home a mind-boggling 52 goals in just 16 games while conceding only 16 times.

Die Roten will be licking their chops ahead of Friday’s encounter as well. Wolfsburg is an opponent that Bayern loves to play, currently riding a 14-game unbeaten streak against them which dates back to the 2014-15 campaign. They’ve also never tasted defeat versus the Wolves on home soil, winning 22 times and drawing twice.

Wolfsburg in Poor Form

After such a promising season last term where they clinched a spot in the Champions League, 2021/22 has been a much different story for Wolfsburg. The club has already undergone a manager change because of their atrocious start, sacking Mark van Bommel after eight games and appointing Florian Kohfeldt in October. However, it’s made little difference.

The Wolves have lost six straight competitive fixtures and currently sit in 11th spot in the Bundesliga table following a fourth-place finish last campaign. Kohfeldt’s squad also finished dead last in their UCL group, collecting a mere one victory in six games.

Tuesday saw Wolfsburg battle it out with Koln but unfortunately, they ended up on the losing end once again. Wout Weghorst put his side ahead in the 51st minute with a clinical finish from a beautiful run and assist from Dodi Lukebakio, but the Wolves then conceded twice in the last 20 minutes of the encounter to drop yet another three points.

Their backline is a serious problem right now, allowing 16 goals during this dreadful spell. The frontline isn’t faring much better either, with Weghorst’s six goals about the only bright spot up top.

Bayern Munich vs Wolfsburg Prediction

The best possible result for the visitors here would be a draw, but I honestly don’t see that happening. Bayern and Wolfsburg are on opposite sides of the spectrum right now, with one club tearing apart every opposition, while the other can’t even win a game.

The moneyline offers basically no value for the Bavarians. That being said, a specific bet is going to be best. Take the hosts to win both halves.

Pick: Bayern to Win Both Halves (+123)
