The last game of La Liga’s 36th matchday features league leaders Real Madrid away to face mid-table Granada. Zinedine Zidane and Real Madrid have one hand on the trophy as they are one point above Barcelona with a game in hand as the season draws to a close. The Galacticos will surely be seeking out a victory against a side that has seen very mixed results since the restart of play in Spain.

Granada have not been poor by any means this season. 50 points in the Spanish top flight is no joke, but going up against a team fresh off eight consecutive victories is a major challenge for Diego Martinez’s side. However, it should be noted that half of those victories were by a singular goal, which means there is a chance for dropped points.

Will Granada Find the Scoresheet?

The biggest question in this match from a betting perspective should not be who wins. It should be if Granada can even manage to score against Real Madrid. Their defense, led by Spaniard Sergio Ramos, has only conceded 21 times during this year’s campaign. Furthermore, they have managed to keep a clean sheet in their last five games across all competitions. That is sublime even for Real Madrid, which will make this game even more intimidating for a smaller Granada side.

If history has anything to say in this fixture, it points towards Real Madrid as well. Their last four matches, stretching all the way back to 2016, have all been won by Real Madrid. The aggregated scoreline for these matches? 15-3. It is hard to say a team does not have a fighting chance, but a team this on form will be extremely difficult to stop or even manage.

Title Implications Will Spur Real Madrid

The matchup itself is very daunting. Additionally, Real Madrid just happen to be chasing their first domestic league trophy since the epic departure of Cristiano Ronaldo. This does not help the chances for Granada whatsoever. It means that Zidane will probably put out a full strength Real Madrid side to ensure a trophy celebration come the end of July.

It also means that the players will be twice as motivated. Real Madrid stars such as Karim Benzema, Sergio Ramos and Vinicius Jr. will be on top form as they look to impress the gaffer and win some worthwhile hardware. Granada is coming off a spell where they managed to win two out of three, and Carlos Fernandes will look to punish Real Madrid if they fall asleep.

Best Bet

Finally, the best bet for this match is over on total goals at 2 1/2, 3 goals with odds of -106. These are some of the more favorable odds on the table, and the last three times these sides have faced, this bet has hit. Real Madrid has been supberp as of late, so do not expect much to change come Monday night away from home. With a title on the line, none of those Real Madrid players will want to give anything up. Plus, the Galacticos are due for a good drubbing and succession of goals.

My Pick: Over 2 1/2, 3 Goals (-106)
