The battle for the top of the Group B table heats up on Sunday as Colombia takes on Peru as lofty -150 favorites. Colombia enters the weekend in firm control of second place on the table, two points back of frontrunners Brazil. The club opened their Copa America schedule with a win over Ecuador and a draw with Venezuela. Conversely, Peru lags as +500 underdogs after opening their schedule with a lopsided 4-0 loss to Brazil.

In other Copa America action on Sunday, Ecuador eyes sole possession of third place on the Group B table as they battle Venezuela as -139 chalk. Here’s a look at all the odds and trends ahead of Sunday’s important Group B matchups.

Colombia Aims to Extend Unbeaten Streak

The Cafeteros look to build on their steady start to this year’s Copa America, as well as their recent domination of Peru, when they hit the pitch on Sunday night at 9 pm ET at Estádio Olímpico Pedro Ludovico. After closing out 2020 on a disappointing note with a pair of crushing defeats in FIFA World Cup qualifying action, Colombia rebounded well in two contests prior to the start of this tournament.

The club mounted an impressive comeback to earn a 2-2 draw with Argentina after opening June with a 3-0 rout of Peru. That victory extended their current unbeaten streak against Los Incas to 10 matches, and marked the eighth time during that stretch that they kept Peru off the scoresheet.

Peru Seeking to Regain Past Cinderella Form

Conversely, Peru returns to action searching for just their second victory in 11 outings across all competitions. Goals have been particularly scarce during the club’s extended swoon. Los Incas have been blanked on six occasions during their current 1-7-2 win-draw-loss run, while surrendering 21 total goals during that stretch.

However, Peru showed signs of life while tallying a 2-1 win over Ecuador in World Cup qualifying earlier this month. The club has also consistently risen to the occasion at the Copa America, advancing to at least the quarter-finals in each of their past nine appearances. Indeed, Peru emerged as the Cinderella story at this tournament two years ago, reaching the final for the first time since they last raised the trophy in 1975. The club has also earned at least a point in each of their past four Copa America matchups with Colombia.

Picks: Draw (+250); UNDER 2.5 (-155)

Venezuela vs Ecuador Odds

Venezuela Searching for Lost Scoring Touch

Two teams desperate for wins to end lengthening slides clash earlier on Sunday evening as Venezuela battles Ecuador at 6 pm ET at Estádio Olímpico Nilton Santos, in Rio de Janeiro. La Vinotinto managed to escape with a scoreless draw against Colombia last time out, but have mustered just a single goal while going 0-2-2 in their past four contests.

Venezuela’s struggles extend to recent appearances at the Copa America, where they have posted just one win in eight outings since opening the 2016 edition of the tournament with back-to-back victories. The club has scored just four total goals during that stretch, but has redeemed itself with steady defense, limiting opponents to one or fewer goals on five occasions.

Streaky Ecuador Looks to Avoid Group Stage Basement

Things have not gone much better for Ecuador, who have found the back of the net just once during their current three-match losing streak across all competitions. That marks a dramatic reversal in fortune for La Tricolor, who claimed victory in each of their previous four matches, a run that featured lopsided wins over Colombia and Uruguay in World Cup qualifying.

Ecuador has also held the clear edge in recent meetings with Venezuela. The club has avoided defeat in six straight matchups, including an unblemished 3-0-0 record in non-friendly clashes during that stretch. The challenge now for La Tricolor is to halt a dismal 1-4-0 slide in Copa America action, during which they have been outscored by a wide 8-2 margin, and stay ahead of the basement-dwelling Peruvians on the Group B table.

Picks: Draw (+260); UNDER 2 (+105)
