Group F and E will go underway to define the four teams that will pass to the next round, and in what positions. Here are the picks for the Day 14 at World Cup, Wednesday, June 25th.

Argentina vs Nigeria, Group F

Argentina is already in the next round, but they want to end the group stage with nine points; beating in Nigeria in World Cups is something they are used to do, they did in 1994, 2002 and 2010.

Nigeria needs not to lose against Argentina; they beat Bosnia-Herzegovina in their last game and only Iran can reach them in the standings.

“All players who played today have contributed to this victory but of course, we have a genius who is called Messi. Fortunately he is Argentine,” Argentina coach Alejandro Sabella told reporters.

“Everybody would have liked to have Messi but it is us who have him. It was a very difficult match and Iran played a great World Cup match. But that last play from Lionel, no-one could have stopped it,” Sabella added.

Best Pick: Argentina.

Iran vs Bosnia-Herzegovina, Group F

Iran needs a win and that Nigeria loses to Argentina. Iran looked great against Argentina, and if a clear penalty was given to them, they would have pulled a tremendous upset in the competition.

Bosnia-Herzegovina is eliminated already, but since this is their first World Cup ever, they would like to win their first game.

‘The referee was shameful,’ Bosnian Edin Dzeko said. ‘We are going home and we are sad because of that but this referee should be going home too. He changed the result and he changed the game. That’s why we lost.’

Best Pick: Bosnia.

Ecuador vs France, Group E

France has been an absolute machine in this World Cup, scoring eight goals in two games; five against Switzerland and three against Honduras.  They don’t need win against Ecuador, but they would like to do it to keep rolling entering the round of 16.

“I won’t use the term ‘zero tolerance’ but, with what happened, French supporters attach as much importance to the result as to behavior,” coach Didier Deschamps said comparing this team with the 2010 team that played in South Africa.

For Ecuador is all about winning; they have three points so far, but they also depend on what Switzerland does against Honduras.

Best pick: France.

Honduras vs Switzerland, Group E

Honduras is almost eliminated, but after finally scoring a goal in the World Cup, they would love a win in the tournament.  Switzerland needs a win in order to secure their ticket to the next round; they were smashed by France but still in position to advance considering they beat Ecuador in the first fixture.

“It was a black day for the Swiss team,” Swiss coach Otmar Hitzfeld told reporters at his post-match press conference. The two goals after a good first quarter of an hour killed us. We did not play to the level that we should have today. At 2-0, it became very hard for us, the French then logically exploited our mistakes to bring on more danger.”

Honduras and Switzerland drew four years ago.

Best Pick: Switzerland.
