  • The Golden State Warriors can cement their place in the NBA Finals with a win on Tuesday night
  • Dallas trails 3-0 in the series and their season is all but over ahead of Game 4
  • Read below for May 24 NBA player props and our Mavericks vs Warriors picks

The Dallas Mavericks host the Golden State Warriors for Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals on May 24. The hosts are 1.5-point favorites despite seeing the Dubs run out as nine-point winners in Game 3. Ice-cold shooting and inconsistent defense has been the Mavericks’ downfall in this series, leading to a blown lead in Game 2 and a series-ending Game 3 loss.

Luka Doncic has posted consecutive 40-point games, but it hasn’t been enough for Dallas to take a win in the first three games. Andrew Wiggins has understandably received plaudits for his two-way play on the wing, and Kevon Looney has been superb for the Warriors throughout after playing a big role in their Game 6 win over Memphis.

Odds as of May 24 at FanDuel Sportsbook

Once again atop NBA Championship odds, the Warriors can secure a significant period of rest with a Game 4 win. Steph Curry will be looking to build on his Game 3 gem.

Looney’s a Force on the Glass Again

Kevon Looney has grabbed double figure rebounds in three of his last four games, including 12 in each of Games 2 and 3. Golden State have battered Dallas on the boards in this series, collecting 43 more rebounds through three games. They earned 14 extra possessions with their effort on the offensive glass in Game 3, and Looney was responsible for four of those.

While his role in this series was unclear ahead of Game 1, Looney has been absolutely pivotal for the Dubs. He’s survived when switched onto Luka Doncic. He’s crucially stayed out of foul trouble, and he’s been sneakily effective on offense as a rebounder, play finisher and passer.

Looney has a rebound rate of 17.5% this postseason, the third-best of players to play in at least eight playoff games. He only stands at 6’9, but the Milwaukee native is excellent at using his body and has great hands. Neither Dwight Powell nor Maxi Kleber have been able to keep him off the boards.

The rebounds over is a short price here, but it’s still a value wager. Dallas isn’t suddenly going to have an answer to Looney on the glass.

  • Pick: Kevon Looney over 9.5 rebounds (-132)

Bullock Finds His Shot

Backing a player to hit his over might seem ill-judged after they scored zero in the last game. Reggie Bullock’s nightmare performance in Game 3 was a big factor in the loss, but he was still getting a lot of good shots. He still had seven three-point attempts, and Shot Quality had Bullock projected to score 11 points in the game on the shots he took.

The former Knick can be streaky. He scored seven points on 11 shots across Games 4 and 5 against Phoenix. He has also scored 12 or more in three of the last five, and passed his threes made line in each of those games.

Like many of the Mavs’ role players, Bullock takes the vast majority of his shots from the perimeter. Hitting the over on 10.5 points would pretty much guarantee that he’s drained over 2.5 threes — each of his double-figure scoring games this postseason have seen him hit at least three outside shots. Only four remaining players are making more threes per game in these playoffs.

It’s worth pairing Bullock’s over on points and threes to get us to plus odds. It’s very unlikely he reaches 11 points without making three threes.

  • Pick: Reggie Bullock over 10.5 points and over 2.5 threes (+105)
