Boston College is a 6.5-point favorite and a -300 choice on the moneyline for a 75% implied win probability. Rhode Island’s IWP is as +250 underdog for an IWP of 28.57% in the college basketball odds.

Rhode Island Betting Outlook

Shooting has been a major problem for Rhode Island in Archie Miller’s first year as coach. The Rams ranks 348th among the 363 Division I teams with a 38.6 field goal percentage and are 352nd in three-point shooting at 25.5%

However, sophomore guard Ishmael Leggett has been a consistent scorer as his 19.7 point a game average is third in the Atlantic 10 Conference. He is also averaging 5.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists.

Leggett had 18 points and six rebounds against Illinois State. His 11-of-13 performance from the free throw line helped make up for connecting on just three of nine field goal attempts and one of four three-pointers.

He made the all-tournament team in the Cayman Islands by averaging 21.7 points in the three games.

Sophomore guard Brayon Freeman scored a career-high 21 points and had five rebounds in Wednesday’s win. That came on a day when Rhode Island shot just 33.3% (19 of 57) overall and made 3 of 19 (15.8%) attempts from beyond the arc.

A transfer from George Washington, Freeman scored just two points in each of his first two games with the Rams. He is averaging 17.3 over his last three games.

Sophomore forward Josaphat Bilau had his first collegiate double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. The Wichita State transfer is averaging 4.7 points and 6.7 rebounds.

Boston College Betting Outlook

Boston College defeated Wyoming despite being shorthanded as junior guard DeMarr Langford Jr. (flu), senior forward Quinten Post (foot), freshman wing Prince Aligbe (upper body) and freshman guard Donald Hand Jr. (undisclosed) missed the game.

All four are questionable for Sunday.

Sophomore guard Jaeden Zackery stepped up with a 16-point performance that included going 8 for 8 at the foul line. Boston College shot 93.3% (14 of 15) on free throws but are 307th in Division I in that department with a percentage of 64.5.

Zackery is second on the Eagles in scoring as he is averaging 10.8 points a game.

Senior guard Makai Ashton-Langford’s 13.2 average leads the team. He and sophomore forward Devin McGlockton had a career-high 12 points each Monday.

McGlockton scored just 18 points in his first five games this season. He also blocked three Wyoming shots.

Boston College was just 3 of 13 from distance for 23.1%.

Senior forward T.J. Bickerstaff does a little bit of everything with averages of 8.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 2.0 assists.

Rhode Island vs Boston College Prediction

Rhode Island beat Boston College twice in a five-day span last season, 57-49 at home and 71-65 on a neutral court. Bickerstaff had 22 points, 15 rebounds and three steals in the first game but was limited to four points and two boards in the rematch.

The Rams have won five of the last six meetings overall. History may not hold to form here but Rhode Island should keep things close.

Pick: Rhode Island +6.5 (-110)

CBB Season Record: 8-6 (+1.4 units) ATS
