Scotland vs Wales Six Nations Odds and Picks
- Scotland are 5-point favorites home over Wales in second-round play of Six Nations rugby on Saturday, February 13th (11:45am ET)
- Wales has won 11 of its last 13 Six Nations matches against Scotland
- The Scots are on a four-match win streak in Six Nations competition
Their hated rivals vanquished, now comes the hard part for Scotland. The Scots must avoid a letdown as they play host to Wales in the second round of the 2021 Six Nations rugby tournament.
Saturday’s 11-6 triumph at England served notice that Scotland’s run of good form in last year’s tourney wasn’t a one-off. The next step for the Scots is to establish that they are legitimate contenders for the title.
Scotland have never won the Six Nations title. The Scots most recently won this event in 1999, when Italy wasn’t a participant and it was still known as the Five Nations tournament.
Wales and Scotland are both 1-0 in this year’s event. The Welsh overcame Ireland 21-16 at home in their opening match.
The Scots are 5-point home favorites over Wales.

Dream Beginning
The last time Scotland went to Twickenham and beat England, Michael Jackson was topping the pop charts with Billie Jean. That was in 1983. But after watching their lads push the English all over their own pitch, Scottish folk will tell you it was well worth the wait.
Captain, leader, legend. 💪
What a performance from #GuinnessSixNations Player Of The Match Stuart Hogg! 👏 pic.twitter.com/ECGW3D2wcr— Guinness Men's Six Nations (@SixNationsRugby) February 8, 2021
The Scots manhandled 2019 Rugby World Cup finalist England. They controlled both territory and possession. They put the pressure on England, which is usually the method by which the English wear down the opposition.
Scotland even survived the sin binning of scrum half Finn Russell. Captain Stuart Hogg stepped up from fullback into the #9 role for the 10-minute stint with 14 men and the Scots never wavered.
Wales Hangs On Against Ireland
While the Welsh also left Round 1 victorious, it was hardly a momentous triumph comparable to what the Scots turned in against England.
Ireland were down to 14 men from the 14th minute onward. Irish flanker Peter O’Mahony was issued a red card after delivering a forearm smash to the head of Welsh prop Tomas Francis in a ruck.

Despite the manpower advantage, Wales struggled to take control of the match. While the Welsh defense was strong, making 245 tackles, they struggled painfully at the lineout and committed far too many turnovers.
There was also the puzzling decision of Gareth Davies to kick the ball to Ireland in the waning moments of the match when all that was needed to secure the win was to run out the clock.
Scotland Is For Real
The win over England wasn’t a fluke. The Scots have won four in a row in the Six Nations for the first time since 1990. They’ll make it five in a row for the first time since 1983-84 on Saturday.
Scotland’s average odds to win the Six Nations shortened from +1175 to+408 after vanquishing the English.

Wales are still too inconsistent under manager Wayne Pivac. To make matters worse, powerful center George North, the most powerful ball carrier and try scorer for the Welsh, will miss Saturday’s match due to an eye injury.
Pick: Scotland -5 (-105)
