  • WNBA player and partner, Sue Bird, not a fan of the pink hair
  • Rapione is notoriously outspoken and this could affect her hair color choice
  • Team solidarity could be at play. Will other players follow her lead and play with matching pink hair?

The Women’s World Cup (WWC) Final is set to kick off on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at 11:00 am EST between USA and Netherlands.

American star Megan Rapinoe has been a focal point both on and off the pitch during the tournament. Sportsbooks have released a couple of fun props around what color her hair will be Sunday, and how many players will have pink hair overall. We take a look at the odds and provide some best bets.

At this point in the WWC, Megan Rapinoe’s political voice and hair color are almost at par with the excitement of Team USA’s bid for a fourth World Cup title.

There are a few factors to consider if you’re going to bet on Megan rolling with the pink hair. Foremost, her partner, Sue Bird is not a fan.

“The hair? I was against it … My feeling was — you’re going to the World Cup! To do great things! And hopefully, if all goes well, you’re going to be memorialized in all of these pictures that will be around for … ever!”

Yet, Megan bows to no one so other primary colors don’t seem to be a good bet. With that said, she may take the time to take a dig at Donald Trump who got hot and bothered at Megan’s rebuke of going to the White House.

With Rapinoe’s flair for the dramatic, I wouldn’t rule out the white/blonde option. In my fantasy world, she comes out with the white/blonde but styled in a Trump-esque comb-over.

However, since the release of the video and the ensuing media frenzy, I think she may just want to focus on winning.

On Sunday’s We Wear Pink?

Rapinoe has been a force in using her athletic platform to highlight social justice issues and some teammates have been backing her up.

However, solidarity in the form of a dye job is not at the top of their list. If you look at the roster the majority of players have long, dark hair.

As a woman who has hair, I can attest that changing the color is no small feat, blonde or dark. In the immortalized words of  Kimberly “Sweet Brown” Wilkins: “Ain’t Nobody Got Time For That!” They’re focused on winning, not makeovers to make a point.

Here is your bet: Megan will have pink hair and her teammates will not. Bet the under.
