Clearly, all those statistics point towards a tight and uncompromising affair this weekend.

In the battle for automatic promotion, Swansea are one point behind second-placed Brentford and third-placed Watford. But they have two games in hand over both rival clubs.

Ghanaian Ayew is Swansea’s joint-leading scorer with nine goals in all competitions. His partner, Jamal Lowe, has also scored nine times across the board.

But the team’s tally of 41 goals scored is the joint-lowest in the division’s top eight along with Barnsley.

Watmore Double for ‘Boro

There was a 2-1 win for Middlesbrough when these teams met in December with Duncan Watmore scoring both goals for the winning side and Yan Dhanda replying for Swansea.
