The Houston Texans are desperately sitting at 2-4 trying to see if someone brings answers and wins to the organization; well, that someone is Case Keenum who was named the starter to face the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

“We’re struggling, and we’re looking for a spark,” Houston Head Coach Gay Kubiak said. “I think he deserves an opportunity to go out there. It’s a tough place to play. It’s a tough place to get your first start and all that good stuff. But I’m not sending him out there by himself. I’m sending him out there with his football team, and the guys understand that.”

Keenum broke plenty of records in college when ‘quarterbacking’ for the Houston Cougars.  He won the starting job from TJ Yates, whose 1-0 in the postseason as he beat the Bengals two seasons ago.

“It is real,” Keenum said. “I have to pinch myself every now and then. It’s exciting. It’s what I want. It’s what I’ve wanted for a long time.”

“His eyes got kind of big, but he’s excited,” Kubiak said of Keenum. “He’s a competitor, and he’s a very confident young man. We went out there today, and I thought he practiced really well.

The Chiefs are 6.5 favorites in the point spread for Sunday; the game total was set at 40 points.

Houston is 0-5 against the spread in its last 5 games on the road, and 0-6 ATS overall this season.
