Prop #1: Shane Bieber Over 9.5 Strikeouts
The first prop to target is over 9.5 strikeouts for Shane Bieber against Detroit. Cleveland’s ace hasn’t exceeded this total in four straight starts, but reached double digit K’s in five of his first six outings. He’s tied for the league lead with 98 punch outs, and fanned 12 Tiger hitters on Opening Day.
Shane Bieber punched out 12 yesterday; 14 on Opening Day last year.
The only other pitchers to have 12 or more strikeouts on Opening Day twice in Major League history? Nolan Ryan, Randy Johnson, and Bob Gibson.#OurCLE pic.twitter.com/ZUY2rDZsM1
— Cleveland Guardians (@CleGuardians) April 2, 2021
Only two teams strike out more often than Detroit in the Majors, and four of the hitters in the Tigers starting lineup have a career strikeout rate of 44% or higher against Bieber.
Pick: Shane Bieber Over 9.5 Strikeouts (+100)
Prop #2: Kris Bryant 2+ Hits
The next prop to target is two or more hits for Kris Bryant against the Pirates. Chicago’s third baseman has two multi-hit games in his last three starts, and owns Pirates starter Tyler Anderson. Bryant is 7-for-16 lifetime against Anderson, with three home runs and two additional extra-base hits.
This is Kris Bryant's 57th hit at PNC Park, his most at any road ballpark.#CubTogether pic.twitter.com/hZqCjpGiJE
— Marquee Sports Network (@WatchMarquee) May 26, 2021
He’s on pace for one of the best statistical seasons of his career, and there’s no park he likes hitting at more on the road than PNC. He has 59 career hits at Pittsburgh’s stadium, the most he has at any road venue over his career.
Pick: Kris Bryant 2+ Hits (+200)
