New York vs Texas Probable Pitchers

German hasn’t pitched a ton this year, but he’s been solid when available. The right-hander owns a 2-4 record and 3.31 ERA in 14 appearances (13 starts), striking out 52 in 68 innings and walking 18.

Last time on the mound, German tossed 5.1 innings against the Orioles, giving up two earned runs on just three hits. He’s thrown at least five innings in six of his last eight outings. He’s yet to face Texas in 2022, but the Dominican boasts an ERA over five in two appearances against them.

German vs Otto

German
VS
Otto
2-4 Record 6-10
3.31 ERA 4.72
68 Innings Pitched 129.2
52 Strikeouts 102
18 BB 60

Otto is one of the Rangers’ most used arms this season, making a total of 26 starts, posting a 6-10 record and 4.72 ERA. He’s had control issues, however, walking 60 batters in 129.2 innings while striking out 102.

But, his command has looked better as of late. On September 30th, the 26-year-old held the Angels to three earned across six frames, walking just one. He pitched against the Yankees earlier in the campaign already too, giving up two runs in five innings.

Judge Makes History Before Playoffs

The storyline of Tuesday’s doubleheader was Aaron Judge finally making history as he crushed his 62nd home run of the year, becoming the all-time single-season HR leader in the American League, surpassing Roger Maris.

That’s a huge relief for the slugger, especially heading into the postseason where New York is looking to make a run to the Fall Classic. They currently have +550 World Series odds.

Rangers Need to Provide Run Support for Otto

Otto hasn’t actually won a start since late August, registering several no-decisions and a couple of losses. That’s because the Rangers MLB lineup is struggling to provide offense for their starter.

Producing at the dish has been a problem all season for Texas, ranking 19th in batting average, 15th in hits, and 11th in runs. All in all, it’s a campaign the Rangers will want to move on from as soon as possible. They’re also 1-9 in their last 10 games as of Tuesday.
