3 Best NBA Player Prop Bets October 30th: Simmons Should Have Big Game vs Timberwolves
- Karl-Anthony Towns is currently second in the NBA with 32.0 points per game.
- Ben Simmons averaged 33.5 combined points, rebounds and assists per game at home last season.
- R.J. Barrett has scored no less than 16 points in an NBA game this season.
We’ve got an intriguing matchup on our hands tonight when the Minnesota Timberwolves visit the Philadelphia 76ers.
No one is shocked that the 76ers are 3-0 but the Timberwolves have surprised a lot of people with their 3-0 start which includes wins over the Nets, Hornets and Heat.
Instead of betting the Timberwolves vs 76ers odds, we’re taking a look at the three best players props to bet here. Here are three that we like to cash for us:
Prop #1: Karl-Anthony Towns Under 26.5 Points
Points | Odds |
---|---|
Over 26.5 | -120 |
Under 26.5 | -120 |
All odds taken Oct. 30.
Karl-Anthony Towns has been on a tear to start the season as he’s looked like a man on a mission. In his latest game on Sunday, he had 23 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, four threes made as well as a pair of steals and a block.
That’s one heck of a line.
He’s now second in franchise scoring (96) through three games as he’s looked like a cheat code on offense.
On the season, Towns is second in the league in points per game (32.0) as he’s tallied 36, 37 and 23. However, keep in mind that he’s played middling teams as he’s faced Miami, Charlotte and Brooklyn.
The Philadelphia 76ers have a ton of size inside and are well-coached. Expect them to get the ball out of his hands.
With them making life difficult for him, expect him to fall just short of the 26.5 points. It’s a big number against a team that has great size and is strong defensively.
Prop #2: Ben Simmons Over 29.5 Points, Rebounds & Assists
Combined Points, Rebounds & Assists | Odds |
---|---|
Over 29.5 | -160 |
Under 29.5 | +120 |
We’re looking at 29.5 as the number for Simmons to get over for combined points, rebounds and assists, but that’s a really big number.
He had 24 points, nine assists and eight rebounds in the season-opener, but he’s averaged just 26.0 combined points, rebounds and assists in the two games since.
One key difference, though, is that Simmons was at home for his over and on the road for his two unders.
I expect him to get back over this mark as he averaged 33.5 total points, rebounds and assists in home games last season. With a soft matchup, he should be able to dominate.
Prop #3: R.J. Barrett Over 16.5 Points
Points | Odds |
---|---|
Over 16.5 | -105 |
Under 16.5 | -135 |
The New York Knicks young stud has had a pretty good start to his 2019-20 campaign as he’s averaging 21.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.7 steals per game.
New York should be pretty happy with what they’ve gotten out of him so far. For this prop, we’re looking at a total of 16.5 points but that seems low.

To put that in perspective, Barrett has had no less than 16 points in any of his four games so far. He’s scored 21, 16, 26 and 19. He’s playing a healthy 37.3 minutes per game – including a season-high 40 minutes on Monday – and taking an average of 16.3 shots per game. If those numbers stay the same, he’ll get over 16.5 points.
