Detroit hosts the Minnesota Timberwolves in Thursday’s earliest tip-off. The T-Wolves are favored by seven for the matchup in Motor City with Cade Cunningham listed as questionable.

The white-hot Phoenix Suns are in Atlanta for a 7:30pm ET start, and the injury-hit Chicago Bulls face the Toronto Raptors 10 minutes later. The Raps are narrow favorites as they look to extend their winning streak.

Coming off three consecutive losses, the Miami Heat are hoping to get back to winning ways in San Antonio. The last two games of the night are all-California affairs with the Clippers and Lakers matching up and the Warriors hosting the Sacramento Kings. Rolling on a seven-game winning run, the Dubs are heavy favorites.

Odds as of Feb 3rd at FanDuel Sportsbook

With uncertainty over the availability of a lot of star players, only six teams have player props available at the time of writing. Phoenix’s Devin Booker has the highest points line on the board at 29.5, while fringe MVP candidate DeMar DeRozan is at 25.5.

Hawks Can’t Contain Bridges

Mikal Bridges has scored 71 points across his last three games. He’s also grabbed 21 rebounds in that period.

Bridges’ offensive game has developed dramatically since he came into the league. He’s one of the better cutters and a reliable outside shooter – he’s developed telepathic understanding with Chris Paul and Devin Booker on his cuts to the basket, opening up plenty of easy scoring opportunities.

Where defenses have been particularly focused on Booker of late, Bridges has been able to take advantage with his smart off-ball movement.

While his scoring can fluctuate pretty dramatically, Bridges is always active on the glass, sneaking in for occasional offensive boards and grabbing easy chances when the bigs are boxing out on the defensive end. Backing over 17.5 points and rebounds is obviously reliant on his offense (and he’s passed this in points alone in his last three), but Bridges has hit this over in eight of 10 games when he scores between 12 and 15 points.

Atlanta may opt to hide Trae Young on Bridges for stretches on Thursday night. Bridges can take advantage of that matchup on and off ball, attacking off the bounce or using his size to back down Young. He should get into the teens in points, leaving us needing just a few boards. He’s averaging 5.5 rebounds per game over the last 10.

Taking the over on Bridges’ points is worth consideration, but the shorter odds and adding in the rebounds is a safer bet.

  • Pick: Mikal Bridges over 17.5 points and rebounds (-128)

DeRozan Puts Up Numbers in Toronto Return

DeMar DeRozan takes on an even greater playmaking responsibility with Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso out. His assist rate increases by four percentage points with neither of the former Lakers on the court.

YouTube video

DeRozan has also been rebounding the ball well of late. His rebound rate for the season is just 7.3%, but that has leapt to 10.5% over the last four games. Billy Donovan is getting more than just relentless scoring from DeRozan – he’s averaging 14.3 rebounds and assists over his last four games.

In that period, DeRozan has gone over 11.5 rebounds and assists in every game. He’s facing a Toronto team with a lot of length, and which ranks top 10 in defense over the last 10, but the Raps are only a middle-of-the-pack team on the boards, and DeRozan has enough offensive talent around him to still clock plenty of assists.

Don’t be put off by DeRozan averaging just five boards and five dimes for the season. He’s been putting up big numbers across the board lately – take the over at plus odds.

  • Pick: DeMar DeRozan over 11.5 rebounds and assists (+102)
