Narrowly avoiding disaster, the Warriors (46-40, 11-32 away) dodged a bullet when Stephen Curry made a crucial mental error in Game 4, but still emerged with a one point victory against the Kings (50-36, 25-18 home). To add insult to injury for Sacramento, they may now have to play Game 5 without their best player.

After a couple days off, the most exciting NBA first round series resumes on Wednesday, April 26th back in the state capital. Tipoff is set for 10:00 pm ET in a game that can be seen on TNT. We dish out the Warriors vs Kings Game 5 odds below as well as our best bet and player props for you to consider.

Warriors vs Kings Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Golden State Warriors -4 (-110) -175 O 232 (-110)
Sacramento Kings +4 (-110) +150 U 232 (-110)

Since De’Aaron Fox will be sidelined, or at the very least playing through injury, the Warriors have been made 4-point favorites to win their first road game of the series. Home court has been a big advantage in the series so far with the hosts a perfect 4-0 up to this point.

As expected, the total is pegged at a high number once again with the over/under set at 232 points, which is actually the lowest expected total for any game of the series so far. This follows the highest scoring contest of this series, as the sides combined for 251 points in Game 4.

Warriors Need to Flip Switch on the Road

Including their losses in Games 1 and 2, the Warriors hold an ugly 11-32 mark away from home this year. It’s very difficult to comprehend how poor they’ve been as visitors, but they’ve been a great team to fade in the NBA odds if you saw this trend early in the season.

If they’re going to win this series, they’ll need at least one victory on the road and with Fox banged up, they have no excuse not to do it in Game 5. Golden State have won at least one road game in 27 consecutive playoff series, a streak that covers the entirety of Curry’s postseason career.

Speaking of Curry, he was very close to putting the Warriors in a very difficult position to advance in the NBA playoff bracket. After the two-time MVP called a timeout that Golden State didn’t have, the Kings cut a five point lead down to one after a technical and triple before former Warrior, Harrison Barnes, missed a 3 point attempt that would’ve given the Kings the win.

Once again, it seems like everything is pointing the right way for the Warriors to move on.

Kings in World of Trouble If Fox Can’t Play

Embracing the moment, the NBA’s first clutch player of the year has shown no fear in his NBA playoff debut. He’s gone toe-to-toe with Chef Curry, averaging 31.5 points per through his first four games. Unfortunately, he fractured the tip of his left index finger in Game 4 and is doubtful for Game 5.

Even if he can go, there’s no doubt his shooting will be seriously affected which begs the question, who will pick up the scoring slack for Sacramento?

Kings’ Game-By-Game Leading Scorers

Game 1 Game 2 Game 3 Game 4
Top Scorer De’Aaron Fox – 38 De’Aaron Fox – 24 De’Aaron Fox – 26 De’Aaron Fox – 38
Second-Leading Scorer Malik Monk – 32 Domantas Sabonis – 24 Harrison Barnes – 17 Keegan Murray – 23

In every game of the series, a different player has been second to Fox in scoring or in the one case with Sabonis, shared the lead. That could be a good thing when you look at balance, but when you’re alpha dog goes down you need somebody to step up and fill the role, and it doesn’t appear like the Kings have anybody of that ilk.

Warriors vs Kings Game 5 Prediction and Player-Prop Picks

Expect the Sacramento crowd to be all over Draymond Green in his first appearance at Golden 1 Center since stomping the chest of Sabonis in Game 2. But, that’s just the way the Warriors swiss army knife likes it. Coming off the bench, he totaled 29 combined points, assists and rebounds in Game 4. In the player combo market, he’s paying out at -115 to surpass 22.5, so count on the agitator to be at his best.

Meanwhile, we’re going to do the unthinkable and fade Curry at under 31.5 points. The overriding reason is that, despite the Warriors road woes, they shouldn’t have as much trouble in this one, allowing Steph to get some extra bench time. At -105 snatch that wager while you can.

Catching a break is something all teams need to go far in the postseason. The Warriors’ NBA championship odds shortened to +700 after word of the Fox injury broke. Our prediction is this playoff-tested squad seizes the opportunity and rolls to an easy victory over Sacramento in Game 5.

Pick: Golden State Warriors -4 (-110)
