The Golden State Warriors continue their road trip on Tuesday, December 14th in the tail-end of a back-to-back against the struggling New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm EST.

The Dubs beat the Pacers on Monday night, while the Knicks have lost three straight games and most recently fell to the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday afternoon, despite a breakout 27-point performance from rookie Quentin Grimes.

This is the first meeting between Golden State and New York this season, with each team winning a game apiece in two matchups in 2020/21.

Warriors vs Knicks Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total Points
Golden State Warriors -4 (-110) -164 OFF
New York Knicks +4 (-110) +138 OFF

Odds as of December 13th at FanDuel.

The Warriors are a 4-point road favorite for Tuesday’s contest and have gone 15-7 as ATS favorites. The Knicks, on the other hand, are just 4-7 as ATS underdogs so far in 2021/22.

Steph on The Brink of History

Superstar Stephen Curry needed just seven more triples to surpass Ray Allen on the all-time 3-point list against the Pacers, but he came up just short and only drained five. Surely, he will make history on Tuesday at the Mecca of Basketball.

Steph and the Warriors really didn’t play all that great against Indiana, but they managed to grind out a victory. Although four of the five starters finished in double digits, led by Curry’s 26 points, the Dubs shot a mere 27% from downtown and trailed for most of the contest.

If there’s been one weakness for Steve Kerr’s group this season, it’s turnovers. Golden State committed 17 of them on Monday night and if it wasn’t for a couple of clutch baskets in the dying minutes of the fourth, this game would’ve resulted in a second-straight loss.

Nonetheless, the Dubs are now an NBA-best 22-5 and improved to 8-3 on the road. They’ve also limited their opponents to a league-low 100.4 points, a testament to their outstanding defense.

Knicks Need a Win Badly

After a respectable start to the campaign, NY is really struggling lately on both ends of the floor. They’ve won just three of their last 10 games and on this current losing streak, the Knicks have been beaten by an average of 12.6 points and were simply outclassed by the Bucks on Sunday at MSG.

Although RJ Barrett’s absence didn’t help, Tom Thibodeau’s squad played sloppy basketball, committing nine turnovers in the first two quarters alone. That resulted in 20 points for Milwaukee, who led 61-48 at half. There really weren’t a lot of positive takeaways for the Knicks in this contest, but Grimes was certainly one.

In his first career start, he erupted for 27 while draining seven triples in the process. Derrick Rose and Kevin Knox both dropped 18 points apiece but Julius Randle’s slow start continued, scoring a mere eight points, while Nerlens Noel posted a goose egg. New York was also outscored 22-4 on second-chance points.

The Knicks are playing horribly at Madison Square Garden, going just 5-9. It won’t get any easier with the Warriors coming to town, who is one of the best all-around teams in the Association.

Knicks vs Warriors Prediction

With RJ Barrett out again, that means Grimes will likely get another start. While he might have another big game, I don’t see the Warriors losing here. The Knicks look lost on both ends of the floor at the moment and Milwaukee exposed just that on Sunday. Steph and Golden State will do the same and roll to a convincing road win.

Pick: Golden State Warriors -4 (-110)
