Odds as of June 27th

Bogdan Might Be Back

One Atlanta Hawk who has been a non-factor in this series so far is Bogdan Bogdanovic. After playing 42 minutes in Game 4 against the Philadelphia 76ers, he looked less than himself in Game 5 and was even pulled in Game 6 with knee soreness. There was talk of him missing Game 7 but being that Bogdanovic is an absolute beast, he ended up playing.

Given what we know Bogdanovic is capable of, he looked pretty bad in Game 7 against the 76ers and Game 1 against the Bucks. He played 20+ minutes in both games but he was clearly bothered by the knee. He’s a guy who is capable of filling it up offensively and that just hasn’t happened since Game 5 of the Philadelphia series.

As we all know, everything in sports betting is fluid. Things change and they change quickly. Bogdanovic looked much better in Game 2 and we caught a break since he left the game after one minute due to foul trouble. As a result, he was only able to score eight points which has kept his points total down.

In 24 games before the injury, Bogdanovic scored at least 12 points in 23 of them. Given that this game is expected to be more competitive, Bogdanovic could see minutes in the 30s if his knee is feeling any better which it looks to be. He looks like the sneakiest of sneaky bets to go over 11.5 points tonight.

  • The Pick: Bogdanovic Over 11.5 Points (+178) *Alt Line

Trae Young is an Auto-Bet

There really isn’t a statistical reason to bet Trae Young’s point total over tonight. We could point to the fact that he scored more than 30 or more points in three of the seven games versus the 76ers. We could also point out that he did it in three of the five games in the first round against the New York Knicks.

I would say, just look at what he did against the Bucks in Game 1.

The Bucks embarrassed the Hawks in Game 2. They treated it like a must win game and they obviously were successful. However, I’m not sold on the fact they figured out how to stop Young from scoring. He dropped 48 points on them in Game 1 of this series and he has proven that he is the type of player that is just unstoppable when he gets going. I like his point total over at 30.5 +102 tonight.

  • The Pick: Young Over 30.5 Points (+102) *alt line
