One of the hottest teams in the NBA faces the hottest of all when the Miami Heat visit the Utah Jazz at 9pm ET Saturday at Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City.

The Heat (11-14) have won four games in a row after losing seven of eight. Miami has also been on the winning side against the spread in three of its last four games.

A stretch of 17 wins in 18 games has given the Jazz (21-5), who are currently on a six-game winning streak, the best record in the NBA. Utah is also riding a string of five straight victories ATS and are favored again Saturday.

The Butler Did It

Jimmy Butler had a triple-double Thursday night with 27 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists as the Heat opened their seven-game Western Conference road trip with a 101-94 victory over the Houston Rockets as 1.5-point favorites.

It was the first triple double of the season for Butler and 10th of his career. He also had a double-double in his previous two games and is averaging 23.3 points, 9.7 assists and 9.3 rebounds in the last three games.

Bam Adebayo just missed giving the Heat two players with triples-doubles as he finished with 10 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists. It marked his fifth double-double in the last eight games.

The Heat also got a career-high 21 points from Max Strus, who tied a career best with five 3-point field goals. The seldom-used Strus never got off the bench in the Heat’s prior two games.

The Heat were down by as many as 13 points in the first half. However, they outscored the Rockets 28-10 in the third quarter to move in front 75-63 and maintained the double-figure lead throughout the final period.

Miami won despite committing 20 turnovers.

Shooting guard Tyler Herro will return Saturday after sitting out the game in Houston because of the NBA’s health and safety protocols. He is averaging 17 points a game.

Everyone Gets Into Act

The Jazz showed off their depth Friday night as four players scored at least 25 points in a 129-115 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks at home. Utah was favored by 2.5 points.

Rudy Gobert had a team-high 27 points and 12 rebounds as he notched his second-highest point total of the season. He also recorded his fourth straight double-double in helping the Jazz outrebound the Bucks 46-33.

Joe Ingles scored 27 points to tie a career high. He had a hand in the Jazz’s first 14 points with four 3-pointers and an assist.

Ingles established a season high in scoring for a second consecutive game following a 24-point effort on Tuesday in a win over the Boston Celtics.

Donovan Mitchell finished with 26 points and Jordan Clarkson added 25 as the Jazz shot 52.4% from the field and 85.3% from the foul line.

The Bucks had scored at least 120 points in a franchise-record six consecutive games until the Jazz snapped that streak.

Point guard Mike Conley is expected to miss his fourth straight game with hamstring tightness. He leads the Jazz in assists with 5.8 a game and has a 16.5 scoring average.

Splitsville

The teams played twice last season with each winning on its home court, the Heat 107-104 as 4.5-point favorites and the Jazz 116-101 as five-point picks.

In the rematch at Utah, Mitchell scored 26 points, Clarkson added 21 and Gobert had a double-double with 16 points and 20 rebounds. The Jazz held a 53-37 advantage on the boards. Butler topped the Heat with 25 points.

This is the second of a back-to-back for the Jazz. However, they are 3-1 in those situations this season because they have plenty of depth to ward off fatigue.

While the Heat is playing well, the Jazz is playing phenomenally and it’s hard to pick against them.
