The NBA’s last two runners-up meet as the Miami Heat visit the Golden State Warriors at 10pm ET Wednesday at the Chase Center in San Francisco.
The Heat have fallen on hard times since losing to the Los Angeles Lakers in last year’s Finals. Miami is 11-16, has lost back-to-back games following a season-best four-game winning streak and have been on the losing side against the spread in three of its last four games.
The Warriors know the feeling. After falling to the Toronto Raptors in the 2018-19 Finals, Golden State had the worst record in the league last season.
However, the Warriors have bounced back to go 15-13 in 2020-21. They have won three of their last four games and are favored in this matchup.

Heat is Cold
The Heat enter the midpoint of their seven-game road trip off a 125-118 loss to the short-handed Los Angeles Clippers on Monday as 6.5-point underdogs. The Clippers were without four starters, including stars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.
Jimmy Butler had a triple-double in defeat with 30 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.

It was his second triple-double of the season, both coming in the last three games.
Bam Adebayo added 27 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists for his 14th double-double. He has also scored at least 20 points 11 times.
Tyler Herro scored 27 points in a reserve role, his sixth game of potting 20+ points.

The Heat shot 50.5% (46-of-91) from the field and had just eight turnovers. However, they made just 8-of-36 (22.2%) from 3-point range.
The loss dropped the Heat’s road record to 4-9. They have been without Avery Bradley (right calf strain), Goran Dragic (left ankle sprain) and Chris Silva (left hip flexor strain) on this trip.

Stephen Curry continued his recent hot streak Monday night when he scored 36 points in just 30 minutes to lead the Warriors to a 129-98 rout of the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers as 11-point favorites.

With the game in hand, Curry sat out the fourth quarter. He made 13-of-19 field goal attempts, including 7-of-11 on 3-pointers. Curry is averaging 37.6 points in his last six games.
Curry became the second NBA guard to score at least 25 points and shoot 50% or better from the field in 10 consecutive games since the 1970-71 season. The other is Michael Jordan.
Curry has also made a triple in 90 games in a row, the fourth-longest streak in league history. He holds the record with 157 from Nov. 13, 2014 through Nov. 3, 2016.
Draymond Green continues to rack up the assists since moving from forward to center with James Wiseman (wrist) and Kevon Looney (ankle) injured. Green tied a career high with 16 dimes Monday night despite being slowed by knee pain during the morning shootaround.

Green has at least 10 assists in six of the last seven games and a total of 86 in that span. That is the most assists by a center in a seven-game period since at least 1970-71, the first season the NBA kept such records.
The Warriors shot 52.3% (46-of-88) from the floor and 45.9% (17-of-37) on 3s.
Heat Swept in ’19-‘20
The Heat swept a pair of games from the Warriors last season, winning 122-105 at home as 11.5-point favorites and 113-101 on the road as seven-point picks.
Six Heat players scored at least 15 points in the win at Miami, led by Dragic with 20 and Herro with 19. In the game in San Francisco, Butler had 21 points and 10 rebounds and Duncan Robinson added 17 points with five 3-pointers.
The Heat have won three in a row in the series, but it is hard to back them this time on the road against a red-hot Curry.
