  • The Dallas Mavericks visit the Nuggets Saturday, March 13th (10pm ET)
  • Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis missed last game but neither is on the injury report ahead of this game
  • See the player props for the game available below

Stars collide when Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and the Denver Nuggets host Luka Doncic, Kristaps Porzingis and the Dallas Mavericks Saturday Night at the Ball Arena on NBA TV.

Dallas was without both Doncic and Porzingis in their 116-108 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday.

The Nuggets survived a late scare from Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies in their 103-102 win Friday night.

This series has been an unpredictable back and forth battle recently as both teams have won three of the last six meetings. The last one was take by Denver 117-113 back in January. The Nuggets are three-point favorites in this one, and there are more than enough props to consider.

With the status of Doncic and Porzingis still unknown, we will look at the Nuggets’ side of the ball.

The Joker is Wild

Nikola Jokic has been a legitimate superstar in the NBA for a few years now. He’s a swiss army knife big man that can do anything asked of him and he is putting together a career year this season. What’s most impressive is everything he does on the floor appears to be effortless.

It’s crazy to think that Jokic has actually taken a giant leap in any area of his game since he has been so good, but his scoring has seen a big bump this season.

His previous career-high in points per game coming into the year was 20.1 and he has blown that out of the water this year going for 27.2. On top of the scoring, he is also having a career-year in rebounding, averaging 11.1 per contest. He is a one-man wrecking crew almost every night.

The Mavericks are not necessarily bad against bigs but they can give up games against versatile bigs. They are decent at defending the paint as only five teams give up less points in the paint. That can take bettors off of bigs against them but maybe it shouldn’t tonight.

Jokic only scores 52% of his points in the painted area so he is immune to what the Mavericks do well defensively. A comparable player would be Nikola Vucevic of the Orlando Magic. He just hung a 29 point, 15 rebound game on the Mavericks on March 1st. Look for a similar night from Jokic tonight.

The Pick: Nikola Jokic Over Points + Rebounds Over 37.5 (-120)

Will the Thrill Coming in Hot

One player that continually slides under the radar lately is Will Barton. He’s playing 30-plus minutes every night and doing his typical Will Barton things when he does. He may be on the other side of 30, but he can still throw it down with the best of them.

Barton’s points plus rebound total looks like a nice target tonight. In the last five games, He’s gone over 20 in those categories in all of them yet his number tonight is 17.5. He is capable of big nights scoring, which is always helpful and if he takes 14 shots again tonight like he did last night, he will go over this number tonight.

The Pick: Will Barton Over 17.5 Points + Rebounds (-111)
