The NBA odds have the Mavericks as 4.5-point road ‘dogs, in a game that features a total of 223.

It’s the third of four meetings between the teams this year, with each team winning a game in Dallas. It will be the third straight game where Denver isn’t close to 100%.

Dallas Betting Outlook

After a brutal OT road loss to the last-place Detroit Pistons, Dallas has now won two straight in blowout fashion, the latest a 130-111 thumping of the visiting Phoenix Suns. The Mavs  jumped out quick, racing to a 33-15 lead after a quarter and never looking back.

Luka Doncic, one of top favorites in the NBA MVP odds, had a game-high 33 points, adding six rebounds and eight assists, as the Mavericks improved to 10-3 at home.

Spencer Dinwiddie had 21 points and four boards, while Christian Wood came off the bench drop 18 points, nine boards and five dimes.

Dallas averages 111.5 points on the year, which ranks 17th, but in the last three games, Dallas has been putting up 125.3 points per game.

Their bread-and-butter, however, remains that stout defense, which holds the opposition to 108.4 points per game.

Denver Betting Outlook

The Nuggets came up empty on a mini 2-game trip, the latest a 121-106 beatdown in New Orleans. Prior to this rut, the Nuggets had reeled off 10 of the previous 14, which helped them into a top-4 spot in the ultra-competitive West.

Denver wasted a quality effort from Nikola Jokic, who had 32 points, 16 rebounds and nine assists, while shooting 13-for-19 from the field.

Three other Nuggets starters finished in double-digits. Aaron Gordon had 19 points and eight rebounds and Jamal Murray added 18 points, five assists and four boards.

The second-best 3-point shooting team in the league (39.7%), the Nuggets could only muster an 8-for-31 mark vs the Pels, a lowly 25.8% effort.

Jokic and Murray missed both previous games between the two teams this season due to injury. On Tuesday, they’ll be missing the third part of their Big 3, as Michael Porter Jr (heel), will miss his third straight game, and there’s no timeline for his return.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (wrist) and Jeff Green (knee) are both listed questionable.

Mavericks vs Nuggets Prediction

Dallas has not fared well playing on consecutive nights: in their last four games, they’re 0-3-1 against the spread.

They’re also 0-6 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning home record. On the year, Dallas is a lowly 3-7 ATS on the road.

Denver is 5-3 ATS in their eight home games so far this year, and they’re 3-2 taking on teams with a rest advantage.

The Nuggets are an elite offensive unit, ranking fifth in offensive rating, while leading the league in field goal shooting (50%) and third in assists.

It might be hard for Dallas to match the Nuggets bucket-for-bucket: they’re second-last in pace and are last in fast break points. There aren’t a lot of ways for the Mavericks to generate offense, relying a lot on Doncic to carry them.

It’ll be a little too much to ask Tuesday.

Pick:

  • Nuggets -4.5 (-115); 1 unit to win 0.87units
  • NBA Betting Record: 14-11 ATS, 1-0 ML, 2-3 o/u; 0-1 parlays; +1.17 units
