The slumping Washington Wizards (11-18, 3-11 road) take a trip out to California on Saturday for a matchup with the Los Angeles Clippers (17-14, 9-7 home) at Crypto.com Arena. The tip-off is scheduled for 4pm ET. Keep reading for the Wizards vs Clippers prediction.

DC is in atrocious shape at the moment and will be looking to end a eight-game losing skid here. They were beaten 141-128 by the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night. The Clips, meanwhile, also fell to the Phoenix Suns on Thursday, but both Paul George and Kawhi Leonard didn’t play.

Wizards Struggling

Washington has been without Bradley Beal since December 4th due to a hamstring injury and they’ve yet to win a game since. While injuries are certainly taking their toll on this group, the Wizards are just downright inconsistent. Wes Unseld Jr’s team ranks 20th in scoring, 21st in offensive rating, and 23rd in defensive rating. And while Kyle Kuzma and Kristaps Porzingis are playing well lately, the absence of Beal is evident.

On Wednesday, DC gave up a whopping 143 points to Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets. While Denver shot just 25% from deep, they scored a mind-boggling 98 points in the paint. Washington’s interior defense was brutal. The Nuggets also cooked them in transition, 29-11.

On a more positive note, the Wizards did put up a respectable fight with a depleted rotation. Not only was Beal sidelined, but Porzingis didn’t suit up either. Kuzma led the way with 24 points, while Will Barton scored 22 off the bench against his former team.

Clippers Trying to Find a Rhythm

Los Angeles was deemed a title contender before the campaign began, but injuries to PG and Kawhi have held them back thus far, sitting at 17-14. That’s eighth in the West. The offense is scoring the fewest amount of points per game in the Association at 107.2. Defensively though, the Clips rank sixth.

Like a lot of the season to this point, Ty Lue’s squad was forced to get by on Thursday with a shorthanded roster, and against the always-dangerous Suns, it didn’t turn out well, losing by 16 points. Terance Mann led the charge with 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Brandon Boston added 16 off the bench.

Turnovers proved to be a difference-maker. LA coughed it up 16 times and Phoenix scored 21 points off those mistakes. It’s likely Leonard returns Saturday after sitting out the tail-end of a back-to-back because of injury management. George meanwhile is questionable with knee soreness, while Norman Powell and Ivica Zubac are out.

Wizards vs Clippers Prediction

LA has won three in a row against the Wizards and the return of Kawhi and possibly PG as well is big. A lot of their victories aren’t too convincing though, which is why I like the Clippers moneyline.

Pick: Clippers ML (-275)
