The Louisville Cardinals will try to bounce back after a tough loss against Memphis during the weekend, when they visit the SMU Mustangs this Wednesday at 7 PM ET, at the Moody Coliseum in Dallas.

The Cardinals fell to 24-5 with their second loss of the season against the Memphis Tigers; this one by a 72-66 result.  Louisville is tied in the America athletic division with the Cincinnati Bearcats.

“I knew we were in trouble when we went up seven, and our guys acted like junior high kids,” coach Rick Pitino said. “I knew they weren’t focused to put the team away. That was very disappointing for a defending national champion to act like they just won the game being only up seven points on the road.”

The Mustangs look to enter the NCAA tournament for the first time in 21 years; they beat the UCF Knights 70-55 on Saturday, recording their third win in a row and seventh of their last eight games.

“This ranking doesn’t mean anything to me right now,” said coach Larry Brown. “I’m proud of the fact that we’re in the top 25 in a lot of people’s eyes, but we’ve got a lot of things ahead of us and a lot of great opportunities. And we’ve got to do better than we did today.”

Louisville is a 2.5 point favorite despite playing on the road. The Mustangs are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 home games, and the Cardinals are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games following a S.U. loss.
