Alabama is now a 16.5-point favorite vs Florida in the SEC championship game after the line opened with the Tide being 14.5-point favorites.

Alabama (10-0) decimated Arkansas in Week 15 to remain undefeated, while the Gators (8-2) saw their CFP dreams crushed with a shocking upset loss to LSU.

Tide Can’t Be Stopped

Alabama remained unbeaten on the season with another convincing win over an SEC opponent in Week 15. The Tide took down the Razorbacks 52-3 thanks to dominant efforts on both sides of the ball. Running backs Najee Harris and Brian Robinson Jr. had a combined five touchdowns on the ground, while the Tide’s defense held Arkansas to just 188 total yards of offense.

It doesn’t appear that anybody in the country is capable of slowing down the Crimson Tide powerhouses, yet alone a Florida team that just lost to an LSU program that got obliterated by Alabama one week ago. Alabama is so skilled on offense that they can rack up almost 450 yards of offense without QB Mac Jones even recording a touchdown.

Alabama’s offense has put up 50-plus points on five different occasions this season, but it’s their defense that will be a big talking point leading up to Saturday’s game. The Tide are coming off one of their best defensive showing showings of the season, sacking Arkansas QBs eight times. Getting to Kyle Trask, who doesn’t have great mobility, will be a key to success on Saturday.

Gators Stunned By LSU

Florida’s chances to win the National Championship went up in flames after a shocking upset loss to LSU in Week 15. This is the same Tigers team that got destroyed 55-17 by Alabama in Week 14.

Florida appeared to be looking ahead to the SEC title game against LSU, falling behind 24-17 at halftime and unable to complete the comeback in an eventual 37-34 defeat. A brutal, untimely unsportsmanlike penalty from CB Marco Wilson and a missed 51-yard field goal by Evan McPherson will live in Florida infamy.

Florida has had a terrific season, but they just didn’t come ready to play in Week 15. They shot themselves in the foot with costly penalties and couldn’t stop a freshman QB from dropping three touchdowns on their defense. The only positive is they put up over 600 yards of offense without star TE Kyle Pitts. The Gators will be hungry to salvage their season by beating Bama.

Will The Line Continue to Move? 

There’s only one direction this line will move in leading up to kickoff, and it’s not the direction of the team that just lost to a 4-5 LSU squad. Alabama has covered the spread in seven straight games and haven’t won by fewer than 20 points since Oct. 17 vs Georgia.

Expect a ton of public money to come in on Alabama after Florida’s loss to LSU. Get in now if you like the Tide, but wait and see how far the line goes if you think Florida can make a game of it. Alabama could be favored by around 20 points by the time kickoff rolls around on Saturday.

The total is also something to keep an eye on. It’s gone up to 72.5 after opening at 71.5 and could increase more if Pitts is confirmed to be playing. The Gators have scored at least 30 points in every single game this season, and even a strong defense like Alabama’s is going to have its hands full with the Trask-Pitts duo.
