Bet The Under in Iowa-Nebraska?

The Iowa vs Nebraska game total is set at a ridiculously low 26.5, which is actually down a point from the 27.5 number it opened at. The public is hammering the “over” in the college football public betting splits, but the reverse line movement indicates the sharps are on the other side.

We actually think taking the under in this game is the right bet, as both offenses are going to have a hard time getting to double digits.  The Hawkeyes and Cornhuskers each average just around 110 passing yards per game while boasting very efficient defenses.

Nebraska’s strength is its run game, but it’s going up against a stout Iowa defense that has surrendered just two rushing touchdowns in 2023, the fewest in the nation. Nebrasak’s rush defense isn’t a slouch either, holding eight of their opponents to fewer than 100 rushing yards.

As ugly as this bet may seem on paper, the Iowa “under” is making bettors money this season. It’s cashed in six straight games for the Hawkeyes and five straight on the road. Add in the 12.8 mph winds in the forecast at Memorial Stadium and you have all the making of an ugly, low-scoring slugfest.

  • Pick: Under 26.5 (-110)

Oregon vs Oregon State Pick & Prediction

Oregon aims to continue its quest for a CFP berth as it welcomes the Oregon State Beavers to Euguene in Week 13. Deemed the “Civil War”, the latest odds set the Ducks as 13.5-point favorites over their in-state rivals.

Oregon State will be looking to deliver a crushing upset Friday after falling just short of doing exactly that against Washington last weekend. The Beavers lost 22-20 to the Huskies in Week 12, holding UW to 272 yards of total offense, including just 162 passing.

While OSU gave Washington a scare, we don’t forecast Oregon having too much trouble taking care of business at home. Yes, Washington beat Oregon during the regular season, but the Ducks rank better in both offense and defense efficiency, plus would be favored in a potential Pac-2 Championship rematch.

Bo Nix carved up Arizona State for six TDs in the first half last weekend, and he’ll have time in the pocket Friday with the Beavers ranking 81st nationally in pass rush efficiency (per PFF). Nix has been ridiculously consistent this season, and his completion percentage (78.1%) only dips a couple of percent when facing ranked opponents.

Oregon State has run the ball on 56% of their offensive plays this season, and we expect the Oregon ground defense to hold down the fort and frustrate the Beavers’ attack. The Ducks are allowing under 100 rushing yards per game, including just 0.7 rushing TDs and an excellent 3.4 yards per carry.

  • Pick: Oregon -13.5 (-110)
