Oregon quarterback Bo Nix is the clear Heisman Trophy favorite following Week 13 of the 2023 college football season. Nix pulled away from LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels in the updated Heisman odds after turning in another strong performance vs Oregon State.

Daniels faded slightly in the Heisman odds despite leading his team to victory against Texas A&M in Week 13. Daniels won’t have another opportunity to make his Heisman case this season, while Nix will get one final huge stage vs Washington in the Pac-12 Championship Game.

Let’s analyze the Heisman odds and provide you with our best bet for the winner.

Bo Nix Leads in Heisman Odds

Oregon quarterback Bo Nix is back on top on the Heisman odds following Week 13 of the NCAAF season. Nix entered the weekend as the second favorite to win the trophy at +125 odds, but he overtook Jayden Daniels following Saturday’s action.

Nix threw for 367 yards and accounted for three touchdowns to lead his team to a 31-7 victory over in-state rivals Oregon State. Oregon punched its ticket to the Pac-12 Title Game with the victory, and oddsmakers adjusted Nix’s odds accordingly.

Both FanDuel and DraftKings made Nix around a -125 favorite in their respective Heisman odds on Saturday. He’s pulled away from Jayden Daniels, who is now at +110 odds at sportsbooks.

Nix certainly isn’t a lock for the Heisman, but the chance to win a conference title is a huge factor in these updated odds. Daniels delivered another impressive performance in Week 13 (345 yds, 4 TDs vs A&M), but LSU’s regular season is now officially over.

Oddsmakers aren’t giving any other player much of a chance to win the Heisman following Week 13. Washington QB Michael Penix Jr. is the clear third favorite at +1500, while UGA pivot Carson Beck has the next best odds as a +10000 longshot.

Best Bet to Win The Heisman

It may not be the most popular choice, but we really like the value on Bo Nix to win the Heisman heading into the Pac-12 Championship. Daniels’ eye-popping stats might lose some significance in the eyes of voters if Nix puts on a show vs the Huskies and leads his team to the title.

Of course, Nix lost to the Huskies back in October, but he played well, throwing for 337 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions. Oddsmakers like Oregon’s chances of getting revenge in Las Vegas, setting the Ducks as 8.5-point favorites over the Huskies for Friday’s rematch.

Nix leads the nation in passing yards and completion percentage, plus he provides a great story for voters to latch onto. The senior’s been too consistent this season to confidently predict him slipping up vs Washington. Our Heisman prediction is Nix edges out Daniels by a tight margin after leading the Ducks to the Pac-12 title.
