Toledo vs Bowling Green Prediction

Toledo (9-1) looks to extend their winning streak to 10 games with a victory over Bowling Green (6-4) on Tuesday night. The red-hot Rockets are 42-41-4 in the Battle of I-75 and have won 11 of the last 13 meetings.

There is a 10-point spread for the game, which is pretty accurate based on our metrics. We have Toledo favored by around 13 points on a neutral field, so factor in the fact this game is being played at Doyt L. Perry Stadium and you get around a 10-point spread.

While Toledo is the hottest team in the MAC, the Falcons have reeled off four straight victories, including a commanding 49-19 victory over Kent State. We believe Bowling Green can keep this game competitive on the strength of its defense, which is allowing only 329 yards and 24 points per game.

The Falcons have the potential x-factor in this game with junior RB Ta’ron Keith, who went off for 103 rushing yards and 130 receiving last week. With Toledo’s run defense only middle-of-the-pack in the MAC (151 YPG), look for BGSU to attack the Rockets on the ground and stay within the number.

  • Pick: Bowling Green +10 (-110)

Western Michigan vs Northern Illinois Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Western Michigan +5 (-110) +164 Over 55 (-110)
Northern Illinois -5 (-110) -198 Under 55 (-110)

Western Michigan vs Northern Illinois Pick

Two teams seeking bowl eligibility square off Tuesday when the Western Michigan Broncos (4-6) face the Northern Illinois Huskies (4-6) at Brigham Field at Huskie Stadium in DeKalb, Ill. Both these teams need to win out in order to get to six wins and become bowl eligible.

The Huskies have the most experienced player in this game in senior quarterback Rocky Lombardi, who has completed 153 of 263 passes (58.2%) for 1,799 yards and nine touchdowns. Junior running back Antario Brown is also a major impact player with nearly 1,000 yards rushing.

The sharp money is on the Huskies in this game, with the line ticking up to -5 at some sportsbooks after opening around a field goal. We’re going to focus on the game total, however, as NIU hasn’t been overly impressive recently, dropping two straight games and struggling to finish off scoring drives.

The “over” has cashed in seven of the last eight Western Michigan games, primarily due to the team’s miserable defense (32.78). On the flip side, however, the Huskies’ defense is allowing nearly 170 yards per game on the ground, and the Broncos have a dual-threat quarterback in Hayden Wolff, plus a talented RB in Jalen Buckley (892 yds) who can exploit those weaknesses and put up points.

  • Pick: Over 55 (-110)

Akron vs Eastern Michigan Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Akron +3.5 (-110) +142 Over 39 (-110)
Eastern Michigan -3.5 (-110) -170 Under 39 (-110)

Akron vs Eastern Michigan Prediction

Two of the lower-tier teams in the MAC battle Tuesday when the Eastern Michigan Eagles (4-6) face the Akron Zips (2-8) at Rynearson Stadium. The Eagles are 3.5-point favorites in the latest Akron vs. Eastern Michigan odds, which is up a half point from the opening line.

Akron vs Eastern Michigan features a very low total for a MACtion game at 39, and we believe the value is actually on the under. These are two very inefficient offenses, with the Zips averaging 17 points per game and the Eagles managing 19 points per contest.

While the public will be hammering the low total, the college football public betting splits show that the “under” is getting 49% of the handle with only 27% of the bets. A key factor in this money distribution is the fact the Zips could be without two of their top players, RB Lorenzo Lingard and WR Alex Adams (both QUESTIONABLE).

We expect to see plenty of running the ball Tuesday, especially EMU with their dynamic RB tandem of Jaylon Jackson and Samson Evans. As poor as both these teams have performed, they are both in the upper half of the MAC in passing defense. This has all the makings of a low-scoring slugfest.

  • Pick: Under 39 (-110)
