Bowling Green vs Western Michigan Prediction

The Bowling Green Falcons (6-5) and the Western Michigan Broncos (4-7) kick off Tuesday night MACtion with a matchup at Waldo Stadium in Kalamazoo, Mich. This is one of the tightest spreads for a Mid-American game, with the Falcons priced as slight 2.5-point favorites at ESPN Bet.

Both these teams had win streaks snapped last weekend and are looking to get the regular season ended on a positive note. Bowling Green’s four-game win streak came to an end in a 32-21 loss to Toledo, while Western Michigan’s two-game win streak was snapped with a 24-0 loss to Northern Illinois.

Bowling Green’s rushing attack, which talented Junior RB Ta’ron Keith leads, should be the difference Tuesday. The Falcons are averaging 141 rushing yards per game and face a Broncos rush defense that is allowing 156 yards per game and ranks 129th in rush defense efficiency, per PFF.

The Falcons have been slightly better defensively and a grade higher in both tackling and coverage. They also have the more experienced quarterback in senior Connor Bazelak, who has completed 60% of his passes for 1,487 and nine touchdowns.

Western Michigan has been a betting underdog seven times this season, and they’ve yet to deliver one upset win. On the other hand, the Broncos have won all four games in which they’ve been favored. Take the Falcons on the moneyline as they should rely on their ground game to defeat the Broncos.

  • Pick: Bowling Green ML (-130)

EMU vs Buffalo Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Eastern Michigan +6.0 (-110) +190 Over 35.5 (-105)
Buffalo -6.0 (-110) -225 Under 35.5 (-115)

Buffalo is a -225 moneyline favorite in the Tuesday MACtion odds at ESPN, meaning they have 69% implied probability to win the game outright. Make sure to use promo code DIME when signing up to wager at ESPN Bet.

EMU vs Buffalo Prediction

The Eastern Michigan Eagles aim to secure bowl eligibility when they take on the Buffalo Bulls during Tuesday night MACtion. The Eagles are priced as 6-point underdogs at UB Stadium in Buffalo, with the over/under offered at 33.

The Eagles are winless in five road games this season, but won 30-27 at home over Akron last weekend. Buffalo, meanwhile, is coming off a 23-10 loss to Miami in which they failed to cover the 9.5-point spread. The RedHawks held the Bulls to only 278 yards of total offense.

There has been crazy sharp action on this total, with the number initially opening at 40.5 and dropping five points down to 35.5. While it may be tempting to bet the “over” in these types of scenarios, the “under” actually cashes the majority of the time following a notable total drop.

We don’t expect much offense in this game, as both teams are averaging around 20 points per game. The offense we do see should come from Buffalo, as the Eagles are vulnerable both through the air (196 ypg) and on the ground (178 ypg).

We trust the Bulls’ fifth-year senior quarterback Cole Snyder and senior RB Ron Cook Jr. to get the job done at home. Considering the Eagles rank 114th in total offensive efficiency, we don’t see how they score enough points to cover the number.

  • Pick: Buffalo -6 (-110)
