Pick#1: Ohio State +3.5 (vs Michigan)

It isn’t often that you find value in marquee college football games, as oddsmakers often set these lines very accurately. However, we think there’s nice value on the road underdog for Ohio State vs Michigan on Saturday with the line currently sitting over a field goal.

We have Michigan as a very slight favorite on a neutral field in our power rankings, so depending on how many points you want to assess for home-field advantage, the underdog is worth a look against the spread. This is a much different OSU team than the one that lost the previous two meetings to UM.

Ohio State’s defense has been dominant this season, allowing just 9.3 points per game and 144 yards per contest. They’ve been especially resilient against the run, allowing just 3.3 yards per carry. Know in year 2 with the program, Jim Knowles should have this OSU defense performing much better than the previous two meetings.

Given how exceptional both defenses have been, we expect a big play or two to decide the outcome of the game. The Buckeyes have arguably the nation’s best receiver in Marvin Harrison Jr, but the x-factor is TreVeyon Henderson, who is catching fire with three 100-plus yard games in his last four outings.

  • Pick: Ohio State +3.5 (-110)

Alabama vs Auburn Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total
#8 Alabama +13.5 (-110) -535 O 47.5 (-110)
Auburn -13.5 (-110) +400 U 47.5 (-110)

Pick #2: Alabama -13.5 (vs Auburn)

Alabama vs Auburn tends to be a closely played rivalry game, but that’s usually in years where the Tigers are at least somewhat competitive. It’s hard to have any confidence in this team following its deflating upset loss to New Mexico State last weekend.

The Crimson Tide have only improved as the season has gone on, and they are looking to make a statement Saturday as they rank eighth in the latest CFP playoff rankings. We like locking in the Tide at -13.5 in our CFB ATS picks before the public hammers this line Saturday morning and it creeps over two touchdowns.

A primary reason we are forecasting a commanding Crimson Tide victory is the quarterback duel. is second in the nation in yards per attempt (10.6) and is getting more confident with each snap. Auburn pivot, Payton Throne, meanwhile, has struggled all year with a 14-7 TD-INT ratio.

Auburn will need to run the ball to find success Saturday, and we just don’t see it happening with the elite Tide run defense allowing 118 rush yards per game. In their last six games, the Tide have held all but one of their opponents to under four yards per play.

  • Pick: Alabama -13.5 (-110)

Virginia Tech vs Virginia Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Virginia Tech -2.5 (-110) -135 O 53 (-110)
Virginia +2.5 (-110) +114 U 53 (-110)

Pick #3: Virginia Tech -2.5 (vs Virginia)

The final play in our college football picks against the spread for Rivalryt Week is going to be Virginia Tech -3 in their matchup with UVA. The Hokies are sure to be motivated in this rivalry game, as they need a win in order to secure bowl eligibility.

This is a great matchup for the VA Tech, as they hold edges in several important categories. The main one is their elite secondary facing the Virginia pass attack. The Hokies are only allowing 166 yards per game through the air, which is notable with Cavaliers running back Perris Jones injured.

The Cavaliers will likely need to air it out Saturday, and we don’t think they’ll find much success against the VA Tech pass defense that has shutdown top passing attacks all season. Furthermore, Virginia is a miserable 80% in red-zone efficiency this season.

We do think the Virginia Tech offense will have success both through the air and on the ground on Saturday. The Hokies are averaging 168 rushing yards per game, and quarterback Kyron Jones has thrown for 1,749 yards with only three picks. He’ll have time to find his receivers with UVA rankings 131 in FBS in generating sacks.

  • Pick: Virginia Tech -2.5 (-110)
