The San Francisco 49ers will have to go into Lambeau Field and beat the Green Bay Packers in horrible weather if they want to advance in the playoffs, and try to be in the Super Bowl two years in a row.  49ers and Packers clash this Sunday at 4:40 PM ET.

“In terms of a challenge, our guys know the challenge,” said coach Jim Harbaugh. “Being in the playoffs is a chance at the ultimate chance.”

The game is expected be near zero at the 4:40 pm ET kickoff and with a wind chill that could make it feel like minus-20.

“We’re a playoff football team,” coach Mike McCarthy said. “Our identity has changed. This team has embraced it, and we know it’s going to take the full game to get it done, and that’s the way we play.”

The 49ers have beaten the Packers three times in a row; two of those games were won by QB Colin Kaepernick, who ran for an NFL record 181 yards and 2 TDs in the playoffs meeting last season, and threw 421 yards and 3 TDs in this year’s regular season game.

“Green Bay is a completely different team than the team we saw in Week 1 as we are,” WR Anquan Boldin said. “For us, we would like to carry that momentum. We are in a six-game winning streak.”

The NFL odds have the 49ers as 2.5 point favorites. San Francisco is 6-0-1 ATS in its last 7 games on the road, but 1-8 SU in its last 9 games when playing on the road against Green Bay.
