How to Watch Ravens vs Commanders

Kickoff is set for 8:00 pm ET on Monday, August 21 at FedEx Field. The game is being broadcast live on the NFL Network.

During this five-game win streak over Washington, Baltimore has won four of the games by double-digit margins. That includes a 37-3 win at Washington in 2021. The NFL odds show that overall, the Ravens are 9-1 SU in the last 10 NFL Preseason games against the Commanders. Baltimore hasn’t lost a preseason game at Washington since 2007.

Jackson Will Sit for Ravens

If you’re thinking about playing some NFL props at one of the top NFL betting apps, don’t be betting on Ravens QB1 Lamar Jackson. Baltimore coach John Harbaugh may like winning in the preseason, but that doesn’t mean he’s putting his best player at risk.

Jackson will be sitting this one out. As well, backup Tyler Huntley won’t play due to a hamstring injury. That will leave the quarterback duties in the hands of Josh Johnson and Anthony Brown. Each will be playing half of the game.

Johnson went 8-of-12 for 45 yards and a TD in last week’s win. Interestingly, the journeyman QB also saw duty at QB for the Ravens in their first win of this 24-game streak.

Both of the Ravens’ starting corners are injured. Marlon Humphrey underwent foot surgery this week and Rock Ya-Sin has not practiced since August 2.

Commanders Unimpressed By Baltimore Streak

Baltimore and Washington engaged in two days of spirited joint practices this week. There were plenty of fights and even some trash talking about the win streak of the Ravens was coming from the Baltimore side of the conversation.

Commanders guard Sam Cosmi was mocking the streak, calling it a stupid record and insisting that no one cares who wins preseason games.

Commanders head coach Ron Rivera named second-year player Sam Howell the team’s starting QB ahead of veteran Jacoby Brissett. Rivera was still weighing how much playing time he’ll be giving his starters in this game, but did allow that Howell would see playing time.

Washington released kicker Michael Badgley on Sunday, meaning that Joey Slye has won the job.

Ravens vs Commanders Best Bets

The Ravens kept their streak alive last week by the skin of their teeth, winning 20-19 over the reigning NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles. But as has been the case since a 20-19 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on September 3, 2015, Baltimore got the job done, rallying from a 13-7 deficit.

For Baltimore, expect big games from veterans Johnson and RB Melvin Gordon as they look to solidify their spots on the roster.

Washington is riddled with nagging injuries along the defensive front. DT Jonathan Allen (planter fasciitis) and Phidarian Mathis (knee) and DE Chase Young (stinger) are all ailing. Washington signed DT Isaiah Mack as insurance. TE Logan Brown, RT Andrew Wylie and CB Danny Johnson are also out.

Ravens vs Commanders Picks: Balimore Ravens -1.5 (-110)
