Buccaneers vs Chiefs Odds, Lines, Spread, and Pick for Super Bowl 55
- The Kansas City Chiefs are 3-point favorites over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl 55
- Season record 11-9, +0.95 units
- Kansas City is seeking to become the ninth team to win back-to-back Super Bowls
The Kansas City Chiefs are looking to do what only eight teams have accomplished by winning back-to-back Super Bowls. Meanwhile, playing at home the Tampa Bay Buccaneers look to tread upon ground never before walked by a Super Bowl champion.
The Chiefs and Buccaneers are clashing for all the marbles in Super Bowl 55 on Sunday, Feb. 7 at Tampa Bay’s Raymond James Stadium. It will be the first time in the history of the game that a team will contest the Super Bowl at their home stadium.
KC posted a 27-24 victory at Tampa Bay on Nov. 29. The Chiefs are 8-0 straight up on the road this season. That perhaps best explains why Kansas City is a 3-point away favorite in this game.
The opening line was Kansas City -3.5, so there’s been some action on Tampa Bay since then.

Brady vs Mahomes
This showdown between Tampa Bay’s Tom Brady and Kansas City’s Patrick Mahomes marks the first time the last two QBs to win the Super Bowl are squaring off in a Super Bowl game. Mahomes won last year. Brady led the New England Patriots to victory in Super Bowl 53. Both have won NFL and Super Bowl MVP honors.
Brady will be just the fourth QB to start a Super Bowl game for two different franchises. His three predecessors – Craig Morton (Denver), Kurt Warner (Arizona), and Peyton Manning (Denver) – all lost their Super Bowl debut for their second team.

Mahomes is looking to become the ninth QB to win his first two Super Bowl starts, following Bart Starr (Green Bay), Terry Bradshaw (Pittsburgh), Joe Montana (San Francisco), Jim Plunkett (Raiders), Troy Aikman (Dallas), Brady (Patriots), Eli Manning (Giants), and Ben Roethlisberger (Pittsburgh).
Statistically, there was little to choose from this season between Brady and Mahomes. Brady threw for 40 touchdowns, averaged 289.6 yards per game, and is showing a completion percentage of 65.7. Mahomes tossed for 38 TDs and 316 yards per game. His completion percentage was 66.3.
The only glaring difference is in interceptions. Brady was picked off twice as often as Mahomes (12-6).
They Come to Pass
For the first time in Super Bowl history, the top two passing attacks in the NFL will clash in the big game. The Chiefs led the league with 4,854 yards passing, with the Bucs (4,626) following in second spot.
Sunday will mark the first time the top 2 passing offenses in the regular season have met in the Super Bowl, per @EliasSports.
Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes combined for 78 passing TD this season, the second most ever by Super Bowl starting QBs.

Kansas City’s Tyreek Hill led all AFC receivers with 15 TD receptions. Travis Kelce set NFL records in receptions (105) and yardage (1,416) for a tight end.
Tampa Bay’s Mike Evans pulled in 13 TD receptions, while Chris Godwin and Rob Gronkowski accounted for seven apiece.
Injury Report
Both of Kansas City’s starting tackles – Mitchell Schwartz (back) and Eric Fisher (Achilles) – are out. Wideout Sammy Watkins (calf) is questionable.
Some positive health news for the #Chiefs, as everyone is expected to practice — except LT Eric Fisher, of course. So Sammy Watkins and his calf are in a good place.

For Tampa Bay, linebackers Jason Pierre-Paul (knee) and Lavonte David (hamstring) and safeties Antoine Winfield Jr (ankle) and Jordan Whitehead (shoulder) are questionable.
