Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals (7-1) head to Santa Clara, California for a battle with the San Francisco 49ers (3-4) Sunday afternoon. Kick-off from Levi’s Stadium is scheduled for 4:25pm ET on FOX. Temperatures are expected to be in the low 60s with little wind and no precipitation.

The Cardinals are coming into this one after suffering their first loss of the season to Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers on Thursday Night Football in Week 8. The 49ers looked good beating the hapless Chicago Bears 33-22 last Sunday. Jimmy Garoppolo led the way with 322 yards through the air, 171 of which going to Deebo Samuel.

The latest odds are showing the Cardinals as 1-point favorites as we wait for confirmation that Kyler Murray will play Sunday. The total is sitting at 45 which is a little low but if Murray can’t go then it feels right. My guess is Murray will play and the total will go up a few points prior to kickoff.

Arizona Cardinals Outlook

Kyler Murray got trashed for how that Packers’ game ended in Week 8 and he should have been. He threw what had to be one of the worst interceptions in the history of interceptions to end the game. Still, we can’t forget how the Cardinals got into position for that play to even happen.

Kyler Murray was dealing and he drove them over 90 yards on the final drive of that game.

Murray is on the injury report for this game and wasn’t practicing early in the week but my guess is he plays. Even in what I would call his worst game of the season, Murray still threw for 274 yards although he did throw two interceptions. Still, the Cardinals were in a position to win that game which is where you want to be in the fourth quarter.

San Francisco 49ers Outlook

The 49ers looked good at times last week against the Chicago Bears but also bad other times. Giving up 22 points to the Bears’ offense is not something many good teams do but in their defense, Justin Fields looked ridiculous. Still, at the end of the day, nobody on the field looked as good a Deebo Samuel.

Samuel has been the glue holding the 49ers’ offense together all season and now he is endanger of missing this game with a calf injury. All bets are off if he misses this one as star tight end, George Kittle, is also out. It should be noted that coach Kyle Shanahan said Wednesday that he would be surprised if Samuel missed this game.

Cardinals vs 49ers Best Bet

I know these teams played earlier in the season and could only muster 27 points but I think that is unlikely to happen again. The coaches for both teams are too good to get another crack at each other and not have something new. Plus Trey Lance started that game for the 49ers so it had a completely different feel to it.

San Francisco’s defense was exposed slightly last week against the Bears. Justin Fields broke loose for 103 yards on the ground which can’t happen this week with Murray. Bum ankle or no bum ankle. I think the Cardinals will come out much more aggressive in this one which will cause the 49ers to try to keep pace. The number is so low that we don’t need a lot to happen to go over the total.
